Need Hair Stylist in Fairfax/Burke Area

Recently moved to Fairfax, have tried to locate a salon and stylist on the internet and am a little shocked at the costs here. I have short hair and also color my gray, so I am not looking forward to spending $200 on a salon visit, though I need to look good while job hunting.

I go to Shirley at Salon Diva at the intersection of Jermantown Rd and Rt 29 accross Jermantown from Boston Market and K-Mart. A shampoo cut and blow dry is $55 and I feel really pampered when I leave. Tell her D. sent you!

Welcome to the area...

If you are still looking, I go to Mona at the JCPenny hair salon at Fair Oaks Mall. She is terrific, knows her job well. I've been going to her for just over 7 years. I have long hair - for a cut/blow dry/color its about $100. I know I'm charged extra though for the length.

Good luck in your quest.

I like ____@____.com in Oakton. You can find them easily on the internet. They always do a good job on my hair. I spend about $60-70 on a cut. Not sure how much they charge for coloring though.

I am in the same situation, just moved here and was shocked at the prices. So, I accidently stumbled into this barber shop (to ask if anyone saw my car being hit while parked!) and
got a haircut there, it was the best hair cut of my life for only $19. my hair looked like a model's hair after her magic touch. Her name is Lorena and is on 9546 Main st, Fairfax. She is off on Tuesday and Sunday. It is called Barber shop and co. The hair cut was so good that I was sort of pleased that someone banged up my car!! I found a good hair stylist in return.

Hi M.! I live in Fairfax, very near Burke also. I go to Life Spa (it's inside the Life Time Fitness gym) and Allison cuts my hair. Wash, cut and blow dry is $50. I don't color my hair so I'm not sure what the price on that is, but I love Allison so it might be worth calling over there to get their pricing. I've actually been growing my hair to donate it to "Locks of Love" and I'm about to get a whole new 'do!! I trust Allison to make it look great.

M.,

I go to Jon David Salon in Springfield. My hairdresser is Sara France and I've been going to her for over 7 years (I followed her when she used to work for PR & Partners). She's an excellent stylist and she also specializes in color. I've had many friends go to her once they saw my cut/color. I spend about $75 for partial highlights and a cut/blow dry/wash. My hair is a little past my shoulders, but I have alternated between mid-long hair over the years. I'm not sure what a new client may cost, you can always call, but the stylists charge different prices I think based on "seniority" at the salon, so you can always check with the receptionist when you call what the price would be.

Hope it helps!
C.

Hi M.,
Welcome to VA! I go to a nice Salon called the Good Hair Day Salon, their phone number is ###-###-#### and my stylist is Melissa, she is great. I live in Fairfax Station, off of Rt 123, 10 minutes from Burke. They are very reasonable, I used to pay $75 for a haircut in Reston, now I pay $40 I believe (can't remember exactly). Best of luck to you!
