Need Grad Gift for Neighbor

My neighbor has invited us to her daughter's hs graduation party. We're not close, just friendly when we see each other. They got my son a small welcome gift when he was born. I don't want to spend a lot, and we hardly know them. She's going to U of I Ch-Urb, but since the party is a week away and she didn't give us more notice, I can't order something online. Ideas? Thanks!!

A student going away to school always can use cash. A gift card is always nice also. We always have just given cash.
When my son graduated a year ago we were very thankful to those who gave cash because it helped pay for part of this first semester at school.

Cash is always king! They will be away from home or at home commuting, either way they'll need some serious moolah. I used to just slip the kids money because they'd rather have more money than even a card! I'd say go have some fun and slip $20 in their pocket, if that's too much do $10! Have fun!

I tunes gift card-maybe $15. You can get them at Dominick's and I've given them to a few grads this year and they loved them. They're good for iPods and iPhones, so there's some versatility there.

I agree that college kids love cash and gift cards, but if you aren't that close, what about putting together a little package of things she could take with to college - ramen noodles, peanut butter, crackers, antacids, tylenol, granola bars, chewing gum, breath mints, etc.

Cash is king when it comes to grad gifts...I used my money to buy myself a new computer. A lot of grads use it to help with school.
