Does anyone have a suggestion for a good electrician in the nw suburbs? Perhaps a husband or father who is doing electrical work on the side for extra income? We will be installing canned lighting into our kitchen, and I can't stomach the idea of my husband doing this alone. I also don't want to pay the high hourly rates of most electricians. Thanks!

Saturnino Macias ###-###-#### I had him update, changing out wiring in half the house while redecorating last spring. I called him back a couple of weeks ago and had him change the electric in the rest of the house. He did an awesome job both times. I feel safe in my 50 year old home again.
My husband is a union electrician that does sidejobs. We live on the very NW side of the city, so probably not too far away. He's done a number of jobs and so far everyone seems to be very happy with his work. I don't know what he charges. He can usually do saturdays or after work during the week. Please don't let husband do this unless he's done it before. I was a sales rep/ lighting consultant for Juno Lighting for many years, and installing cans gets messy. One tip, do not put the cans in the middle of the room, get them over your worksurface and in line with the counters. I can e-mail you a photo of my kitchen as an example if you give me your e-mail. Also, call Northwest Electric Supply on Rand. They usually have a list of their recommended installers. You can google them... Good luck and if you need help, e-mail me back!
