I was put in charge of the games for my friend's baby shower this week and I have no idea what to do! Does anyone have any fun and unique games to play at a baby shower? There will be about 16 people and we don't know the sex of the baby. At another shower we played "guess the mom's belly measurement," "drink the bottle the fastest," and "get cotton balls in the bowl blindfolded," which were all really fun, but I need some new ideas as most of the guests were at that other shower. Are there any websites that would have some good ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!

What can I do next?

Take little plastic babies and freeze them in ice cubes using an ice cube tray....Put one cub in a small clear plastic cup...one per guest, and as they sit out at the shower, and they will start to melt and when a guest has there whole ice cube melted and the plastic baby is out, they shout...."my water broke!" The first so many people whose "water breaks" get a prize!

I have played the baby food game before. Guess what kind it is. Remove the labels and have them guess what kind it is w/out smelling or tasting. Some have put a smeer of baby food inside a diaper too. Make up little felt diapers as a party favor either to hold a little candy or as a pin for the guests and put some melted chocolate in 1 or 2 of them and they get a prize for the poopy diaper. We have named the baby also. Each guest chooses a girl and boy name as options for the mtb. There isn't a prize for it but everyone gets to be involved. With my kids I had a pool for them to guess birthdate, weight, sex and they put in $1 for each guess. The winner, of coarse after the birth, or the one that was closest, got half the money. The rest went into the babies piggie bank. I hope these help you out.

My sister did something for my shower and I in turn did this for my sister-in-law. Write a story making sure to use product names in it. Example: Sue and John will be up all night with their little one. She will wake them at 12:09, 2:09 and 409 (then hold up a bottle of 409 cleaner). Our stories included 15-20 items. When the story is done, hand out paper to the party goers and have them write down as many items they remember. The one with that remembers the most items wins a prize. The best part of this game is it can be your gift to expectant mother. I put all the items in a laundry basket, who doesn't do extra loads after the baby comes?

Shower bingo (as suggested) is a lot of fun and is a good game for wedding showers, too. Another cute game - and you might find this online -we just played it at a baby shower, Celebrity baby names - List "A" has the celebrity adult names (i.e. Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Jada Pinkett-Smith...etc....)List "B" has the baby names. Timed game.

Also, very cute is a written game like above - but fill in the blank. Animal babies. Like....the baby name for a "dog" is a puppy.....cat: "Kitten, lizards? kangaroos? I just found a web-site w/ a trivia game..like this. Hope it helps.

Also, there is a candy shop in Shorewood, IL "Aunt Nina's Sweets N Treats" that carries a lot of different specialty candy and hand made chocolates. Could be cute for decorations. Have fun!

Look for a book called "Themed Baby Showers" by Becky Long. See if your library has it. Not too expensive either-I paid $10 for mine. Some other ideas for games: Baby bingo (guests fill in baby items on a blank bingo card), baby item word unscramble. HTH

Try "gift Bingo" You give out blank bingo cards and people guess what the gifts will be, then mark them off as the gifts are open. It's a great way to keep everyone involoved while the attention is on Mom.
Another interesting game is to give out sheets that have all the letters of the alphabet next to blank lines and people have to come up with a baby related word for each letter. The prize goes to the person with the most lines filled out.

This is kinda cheesy, but it was also cute. Buy those little tiny plastic babies and freeze them in an ice cube (one for each guest). Then for each table setting, every water glass gets one ice cube with a baby in it. When the first baby is "born" at each table, that person gets a prize.

I know it sounds silly, but it's kinda fun to keep watching your glass of water to see whose baby floats to the top first.

You can make a Bingo game: Make blank paper with 25 squares (5 x 5). Middle is a free space. Each guest fills in the other 24 squares themselves, with items that they think the mother-to-be will be opening in her baby gifts (ie: diapers, onsies, bottle, pacifier, etc). Then they make an "X" over each spot as the mom opens the gifts. Small prizes for the women who get a "Bingo". This is a nice game because it keeps the guests attentive while gifts are being opened, which can sometimes get boring.

Also: Make some sort of necklaces for guests with yarn. Have them bring a small baby item to the shower (such as a pacifier), if you want, to tye onto the necklace. Then, as people are talking amongst themselves, if they say a certain word, such as "Baby", and another guest calls them out on it, then they give them their necklace. Most necklaces at the end of the shower wins a prize.

Finally - Guess the baby food! Remove labels, number jars & have guests guess the baby food either just by look & smell, or let them taste with a toothpick.

And - just curious - where in the world do you work three jobs that you can take your baby with?!

there is one game I have played. Everyone gets a clothespin or something like that they can hold onto for the party. Everytime you catch someone crossing their legs, their feet, they get that person's clothespin - the one with the most clothespins at the end of the game (determined by you), wins the prize. You can play even if you have lost your clothespin. Have fun, this one cause a lot of laughs.

I was just at a baby shower and they played the greatest game. Every place setting had a wooden laundry clip and you were supposed to wear it somewhere on your clothes. Everytime someone says the word "baby" you can steal their clip. Whoever has the most clips at the end wins a prize. We had a lot of fun with that one.
