Hi, everyone. I'm having a garage sale this Saturday to get rid of all the baby & kid stuff, maternity clothes, and so on that we just don't need anymore. I've posted it on Craigslist and made a Facebook event invitation, because I don't want to pay to advertise at this late date. I know I need to get signs posted pretty soon--what else should I do to tell people about it? Are there good local parenting websites where I can post it? We need to make some money with this, too, because of some unexpected expenses, so I want as much traffic as I can get in a one-day sale, without paying to advertise with less than a week to go. Any suggestions would be MOST helpful! Thank you!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

THANKS! I had no idea I could post on so many local websites. Let's hope they come in droves! :-D

Kid's Closet is the best way to make money on your children's items... I've been a consignor with kids closet for 7 years this year! Check it out at www.kidscloset.biz ... also, the nice thing about them is that they pay the highest consignor % at 70% for people who consign (you do not have to work the sale!) and you can take unsold items to another local sale without retagging and the consignor fee is waived! It is the best ever.... check it out for their fall sales!

good luck on your garage sale... let me know where it is! I am pregnant and need items!!!

I know Hy-Vee's have a community board you can post stuff on. I think other grocery stores and Wal-Mart have these too.

If you do not have any luck with your garage sale, I suggest you sell your children's items at one of our Fall children consignment sales. We have many in the area. By participating in our sale, you set your own prices, make 70% of the selling price, you do not have to work the sale, and you don't have to worry about advertising. We do that for you! It is simple to consign, just check out our website www.kidscloset.biz and "find a sale" near you! Good luck!

You can also post on The Pitch for free (online). Fox 4 lets you list your garage sale for free on their site: http://www.fox4kc.com/garagesales. There are lots of KC websites with message boards that you can try to post to. You can also add your garage sale to http://www.KansasCityMommies.com.

Ooohh, where's your garage sale?! I just had a baby and want more baby items. Do you have boy or girl things?

You can post free classifieds on http://www.backpage.com/. This is the advertising The Pitch uses and even if you did opt to pay for any upgrades or print ads, it's pretty darn cheap.
