Need Dermatologist Referral

Hi! I am looking for a good dermatologist for myself. I have a questionable mole that I need to have looked at, but also want to find a doctor that can advise me on some beauty/ face care issues. So far every doctor I have called has a 3-4 month wait for an appointment. I need something faster, and would appreciate any recommendations. I would like to find a doctor in the North Dallas area, but am really open to driving farther into Dallas if necessary.

Thanks!

I recently saw a female dermatologist in Allen. She is new to the area, so very easy to get in to. I was very pleased with her. Dr. Rogers is her name. She is located near Presby Allen. Sorry, I don't have more info with me... You should be able to find her though. Good luck :)

Dr. Mathew Barrows has an office in Allen and in McKinney. I see his PA. I had a question while I was at my general physician's office and he gave me referal to Dr. Barrows without knowing I had been there before for other issues. I would think if you tell them you have a suspicious mole you should be able to get in more quickly and then go from there. I hope everything is okay and good luck.

I like Rodgers in Frisco. They don't try to sell you what you don't want.

We see Matthew Barrows - he has offices in Allen and McKinney. He's very efficient and pleasant. We see him in McKinney at Stonebridge Drive, near 380. When we needed to get my grandmother in this spring, we only had to schedule a week out. Then, I needed to have a mole looked at (and removed) and they were able to get me in within a couple of days.
Good luck!

I just went to Dr. Brown's office at Medical City Dallas. There was not a long wait to get in. I didn't see him, I saw another Dr. on staff (don't remember her name.) There office was really nice and comfortable.

Most dermatologist have a long wait if you are not a current patient. I had that problem when I had a bad skin reaction and urgently needed to be seen by a dermatologist. I ended up going to my physician, who got me into see a dermatologist that day. You could try calling your physician to see if they can get you an appoinment earlier.

We go to Dr. Allen Menter. (www.texasderm.com).

He is one of the absolute best, well known and respected. However, last year he moved to Baylor downtown. The drive does not stop us because it is so worth it.

To see him, yes, there's probably a 3-4 month wait. His PA's are fantastic and easier to see. Most especially, if you tell them while making an appointment of something suspicious, they will get you in faster. Even if you see the PA initially.

Good luck.

I like Dr. Christie Matter in Plano. However, she will probably have a 2 month wait - you'll have to call and see. But, at one point they offered to let you see the nurse (or whatever she is called) instead. So, that might be a way to establish yourself a little quicker. I have not used her for my toddlers, but supposedly that office also does pediatric dermatology - so that might be nice for the future if your kids need help.
