My son will be turning 5 in January, and we are having a party at a local roller skating rink. Yes, I am succumbing to the pressure to have his preschool friends at his party... In defense of myself, with an ever-growing family and close circle of friends, we have kind of outgrown our space for a home party (which I prefer, but whatever.) So, our local skating rink can be rented pretty inexpensively, so we decided to go that route. And since we are having it at a 'venue.' we might as well invite the class, right? Plus, my son assumes his friends will be invited to his party since we've been to a couple of his classmates parties, so now he thinks that's the thing to do. So I'll digress.
Now to my question...
I am looking for a cute/clever treat idea that has something to do with roller skating. I'd rather not do the typical treat bags filled with penny junk that will be immediately filed under "G." For instance, a mom on this site said that for her child's beach themed party, she gave out beach balls. I'd prefer to do something like that. And yes, I know gift bags are not needed, but we're going to do them. SO, I need some ideas. I plan to look at Oriental Trading, but haven't yet. Do you have any ideas for a cute treat that has something to do with Roller Skating?
There is a small arcade at this roller rink, so I like the idea of quarters... I may make up some cute little sacks with some candy, a glow stick, and some quarters, with a nice label with a "thank you for coming" statement on it.

When we had my ds party at the skating rink instead of stuff we filled the goody bags with quarters they could use in the arcade.

I agree with Kerry...money for the arcades. Add a few pieces of candy & that's all you need.
I decorated butter cookies and paired 4 of them with really cheap great cookie cutters. You can find a cookie cutter in a roller skate design I would think and make your cookies from that. Then go to either michaels or a.c. moore craft store with a coupon of course and get the Wilton plastic animal cookie cutter set. they come in a set of 50 colorful plastic cutters which are safe for kids to use. I pgave each child 3 cookies cutters plus the cookies with a notes saying thanks for coming to my party and you can use these cookie cutters for cookies, jello jigglers, sandwiches, brownies, or art projects. It was relatively inexpensive. The hardest part was the time it took to make the cookies but everyone loved the favors. I got plastic cellophane bags for the cookies and party favor plastic bags at target for under $10 total. Hope this helps!

Quarters/tokens if they have an arcade area--usually more popular than the rink! LOL
A few times, I've bought the giant Hershey Bars (or King size Rice Krispy treats) and wrapped a computer-made wrapper around them saying "Thanks for coming...etc" Maybe you could say "Thanks for Skating By"?
I have seen roller skate shaped bottles of bubbles before. Another option is neon light necklaces, bracelets, etc. that kids love to wear at the rink.
