My soon-to-be 9 year-old daughter wants a Camp Rock birthday party. We're having it at the house since she wants to invite 8 friends (girls and boys) and play games. I could really use some game ideas, cake/food ideas, decorations ideas and party bag ideas. Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you have a Wii? If so, there is a Disney Sing It game that has some Camp Rock songs on it. My daughter loves it! There is also a plug & play Camp Rock guitar game that she got for Christmas that is pretty fun.

I did a google search and found this website that has lots of really great ideas. Check it out.

If you do not have a Wii to play the Disney Sing It game I would suggest just getting the CD/DVD and having them sing the songs like a karaoke, maybe offer things to dress up in, maybe having a treasure hunt since they are old enough you could include outside and maybe even neighbor's yards, maybe get a couple of tape recorders or digital recorders for them to record themselves singing. As far as food and cake maybe keep them really occupied by offering "food stations" like a sandwich making station with several different lunch meats and veggies like a subway and a cupcake station with plain cupcakes and lots of different colors of icing and candies and sprinkles. Since it's a camp theme, you could do Camp Susie (or whatever your daughter's name is). If you know your neighbors well, the kids could do a CR-themed Scavenger Hunt. The kids can have fanny packs or bags to collect their items. You can do hotdogs and smores. They could even come dressed as their favorite CR character. I often give flip-flops as our party favors. I go to Old Navy, or the dollar store and buy a whole bunch in different sizes, and then return what's leftover. Have fun!

We went to a camp rock party back in November. They had a big guitar shaped cake, that was purple, I believe. Then, they had a karaoke set up (it was her present from her parents) and they sang and sang all night. They had Disney tracks, especially HSM, Camp Rock and Hannah Montana. The mom also had some black tee shirts and she put "Camp Rock" on there and maybe a guitar in the lower corner, in florescent paint, so when they were singing with the lights out, they were all lit up! My daughter still wears this shirt. They had pizza & chips and stuff too with all the camp rock plates & napkins. It was a fun party! Hope yours goes very well.

Camp Rock is really in. My niece and daughter love it.. Target has the PJ's on clearance I saw yesterday. As for games.. I always play I am famous who am I. I make my own rules and use labels to stick on the kids shirts. You can actually use the characters in camp rock. Or use notecards and do like camp rock trivia..Dance contests are always fun, Karoake etc. As for food you can do nachos. I always use velveeta and mild rotel. I also would get some veggies and ranch. I always try to throw a green veggie in there. I make ranch with the one tub of sour cream and hidden valley packet.. Very easy. Another thing I found out is the kids really like to help. Get some boxes of jiffy pizza mix and help the girls make their own pizza. This is just something else to keep them occupied.. One of my friends let her girls make their cake an they deocorated it wth gummy worms and gummy bears and there were super excited and all she spent was $1 on icing and $1 on the cake mix and $3 bucks on candy.. As for party bags if you why not do a favor. I have a template you can make your own candy wrappers if you want. You can put her picture on it and says Thanks for having a Rocking time at my birthday party. That way you buy 8 candy bars and you are done. I have also made labels to go on mini popcorn bags that says Thanks for poppin in at my party etc. Or you can always get a craft kit where they can make bracelets or necklaces and have a cute little bag so they can take their items home and you can include candy if you want.. Let me know if you want the candy wrapper template.

Have a great one!

I work at a store called Justice and we have some party favors etc with the Camp Rock theme on them. However, If places such as Party City carry items like that - you can probably fine them cheaper at those party stores...

Justice also does birthday parties but I don't think the boys would really enjoy being in an all-girls store. :)

Shaved ice would be an awesome treat for the party! With their age, I can even let them flavor them by themselves. They can put as many flavors as they want on, kids always love that!

Have a great party!

Sometimes the simplest stuff is the most fun. Kids always love musical chairs. Just play music from Camp Rock as the kids walk around. Another one I've done with kids of all ages is Freeze Dance. You play music and when it stops everyone freezes and holds their pose until the music starts again. It's hysterical.

No game ideas for you. I just did a Camp Rock party for my 8 year old with about 12 kids between 15 months and 11 years old, so finding more than a pinata, and a bounce house for games, was hard. Though, I do have some left over supplies if you want them. I have a banner, tablecloth, some plates, and napkins. You can have them for free if you need them. I hate to just throw them out.
