I just found out I am pregnant...I am around 4 weeks....I am looking for a good OB/GYN in the north Dallas area (Plano, Allen...possibly even Frisco). Right now I have an appointment at the end of May with Heather Licker (who is at Plano Women's Health Care...she was recommended by my current physician from Bent Tree Family Physicans)...she delivers at Medical Center Plano (which looks fabulous!). The option that I am looking at is Northlake OB/GYN (they deliver at Baylor Frisco or Plano Presby). I know that doctor is a big part of how things go. I want to have someone who is helpful...who will listen to me...and who will help keep me calm. I am 32 years old...this is my first baby...it was a little unplanned but my boyfriend and I are very excited about it. I just want to have the best care possible for my baby...both with my OB and the hospital I am at. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

What can I do next?

Dr. Jennifer Campbell, is the one. She is wonderful. She takes her time & you do not feel like one of the herd with her. She is in the offices by Presby hospital Plano right off the tollway & Parker. I have been seeing her for 10 years & I love her.

Yes, Jennifer Allen! I only know her as a person, not a professional, and she's wonderful. I sent my mom to her old practice to find out she's switching. I use Tania Jackson at Presby Plano. She's cared for me through all 3 of my pregnancies. Her personality is very laid back, humorous, gives it to you straight, so she won't sweet talk you.
I've also heard amazing things about Tracy Banks at Adriatica Women's Health in McKinney. As for hospitals, I delivered all at Presby Plano and would highly recommend that! The NICU is prepared and nurses are attentive and kind in each phase of care. Best wishes to you!

Dr. Jennifer Allen is an ob/gyn whom other ob/gyn's go to! She is AWESOME and just moved to the Frisco Obstetrics practice (I believe) They deliver at Centennial Medical Center which is close to you and where I had my third daughter. Nothing but great things to say about that hospital. http://www.friscoobgyn.com/ Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS! :)

Dr. Kelli Culpepper and Dr. Dinh at Medical City Dallas are both wonderful doctors. However, the location may be a little far coming from Allen.

Here's another recommendation for Medical City Dallas. I LOVE Dr Mark Godat. He's just incredible! His dad delivered my husband, and he delivered our daughter. Can't wait to see him again soon for our next child!

I use Dr. Sloan and Dr. Roberts at Craig Ranch OBGYN (http://www.craigranchobgyn.com/). The office is super nice and great! they also have their own lab right there so when you need to draw blood, you don't have to go to another location to do so. Ive been going there for a couple of years and they delivered my first baby. They work out of the Mckinney hospital and Allen Presby. I live in Allen so this worked out great for me. Also, I loved Allen Presby (75 and exchange). It was a great experience, and you get HUGE rooms compared to others I know that went to other places.

I highly recommend Dr. Catherine Holt & Baylor Frisco. She was the on call doctor who did my C-Section and saved my babies life! Baylor Frisco is the nicest hospital I have ever stepped foot into. The nurses are FANTASTIC. I will definitely have Dr. Holt deliver my next one there. Good Luck!! http://www.catherineholtmd.com/

Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck!

Not sure if you considered a mid wife but if you're looking for someone to build a great relationship with and someone that will take their time whenever you have an appointment then midwives are great. Jeanean Carter of Adriatica in McKinney is awesome. She delivers at Centennial and McKinney Medical Center. Aliza Chkaiban with Dr Pierce's office in Allen is also wonderful and delivers at Allen Presby. I have met both personally and they always took their time with me and answered all my questions, made me feel totally at ease and never made me feel like I was just another patient!

There are also midwives at birthing centers and I delivered at Allen Birthing Center and Amy was awesome there. So you have two options with regards to midwives.

Email me if you have any questions even regarding the pregnancy.
