Need Advice on Finding a Job to Do from Home

I'm currently pregnant with a third child and my husband and I agreed that after the baby was born in July that I would become a SAHM. My mother is moving in with us and splitting the rent so that money won't be too much of a factor. I currently work at a baby/toy store but everyone's hours are getting cut drastically since our sales are so low coming out of season. I'm lucky to get 16hrs a week. Needless to say that the job isn't even worth it but for extra things when we need it, such as birthday presents.
I'm trying to get a jump on finding a job I can do from home, but nothing seems to be a fit for me. We don't really have money at the moment to put into anything and I'm not the sales type so things like avon and pampered chef type things aren't for me. I've even tried the online survey and blogging/writing online, but none of them seem to generate any kind of money. Most of the surveys come up that I don't qualify for them in the end so even after spending days doing surveys, I have $10 to show for it. I've been trying to find things online, but they all seem to be in those few genres. I'm getting desperate to get started with something so that by the time I have the baby, I'll have a decent income coming in from it. I've been looking through other similar posts on here but most job tips are for things like selling avon or pampered chef. Please help!!!

I am a SAHM who owns her own business. I have an internet franchise and I am partnered with stores like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Travelocity, etc. There isn't any selling.....folks are already shopping at these stores. It's like owning your own amazon.com but you make all the commissions rather than the CEO of amazon. I would love to chat to explain it further. I was like you. I hate selling. Home parties were not for me. I now make a weekly paycheck whether I work or not and absolutely love what I do.
Let me know if you would like some more info.

I earn extra money at Treasure Trooper the link for it is http://www.treasuretrooper.com/minella
It won't make you rich, but it's easy extra money. Last month I made 60$, other people have made 200-300$ a month.

ChaCha.com and KGB.com allow you to work at home, the pay isn't the best but it's something, and you get the bonus of setting your own schedule.

I know you've said you've tried writing before, but if you are good at it check out Demand Studios. You could also try Associated Content.

You can do some little things at Amazon Mturk. The tasks range from .01-20$. Most of the cheaper tasks are really easy to do, and don't even take a minute.

if you want to try your hand at blogging again check out the Niche Blogger. She charges $20 a month for membership to her site, but she lays out exactly what you need to do to make money blogging. I mean step by step. Right now she is offering a free membership for moms who are struggling and want to find a way to stay home with there kids. You should check it out at http://www.mydebtfreegoal.com/2010/01/the-niche-blogger-s...
If you do decide to do it, it would cost you about $20 for a domain name and hosting. I think the cost is well worth it though.

Sorry I don't have any leads for an actual job. Hope any of what I posted actually helps. If you have any questions about any of this just message me and I would be happy to answer.

I used to do phone work at home. It was taking calls for a variety of things, like infomercial products, insurance information, signing up for services, taking customer service calls for companies, and even taking pizza orders. You can set your own hours (it does have to be quiet when you work), but you never know how much work will get and if you will get calls during your shifts. Some places you are an actual employee and at others you would be doing independent contract work. You do have to have a dedicated landline for these companies and a headset. There is training to go through. I think most charge you for a background check, but other than that and your phone equipment there is not much cost out of pocket. The companies I worked with are West, LiveOps, and ACD. I enjoyed it because once you know how to take the calls, it is relatively easy and you can be flexible in when you work. I am not sure how the companies are now but I liked them fine when I did work with them.

Hi there,
I have my own business with AmeriPlan. We offer low cost dental, medical, vision (and much more) plans. There is no selling, no inventory, no products to buy and sell. I have tried some other home based businesses but they werent for me. I love AmeriPlan because you can get started with as little as $50. Everyone is so supportative in helping you get where you need to be. Another thing I love is that with this business you have something that people need, not just want! We have plans starting as low as $9.98, all plans are 50% off this month. I do 95% of my business online, it's great! For more information go to: www.freedomathometeam.com/trdettmers. If you want to learn more about our plans go to www.everyonebenefits.com/trdettmers. Please feel free to call me with any questions at ###-###-#### or e-mail me at ____@____.com care and good luck!

I am also a SAHM with 3 children and I personally am an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay... but as you are not wanting direct sales a direct sales company would be out.

What about doing a kids camp from your home once a week? When I only had my DD#1, every Monday I would take her to another house from 8-12. She would have a max of 5 or 6 kids there so it was not overwhelming. They had some playtime, then a craft, story time and then she fed them lunch (something simple... like grilled cheese and grapes or those little Totino's pizzas.) Then it would be a little more playtime while the parents came to pick up the kids. I believe I paid $15 a week. It was great! My daughter was able to play and I could get whatever I needed done without my daughter attached to my hip!
