We have a set of preemie triplets at home with colic. They are now three months old. I was told by several people to purchase a product called Gripe Water. Has anyone ever heard of this? If you have, did you have any luck with it?

What can I do next?

When my daughter was 4 months old we used Neutrogiemen, it worked like a miracle. I am sorry I can't remember who makes it but is a main formula maker (Not Similac the other one) I hope this helps. L.

Gripe water is amazing and natural! I highly recommend it. You can now buy it at Publix. Little Tummy's puts it out. It's great for hiccups too. Also, have you read Happiest Baby on the Block? It's a wonderful book with awesome ideas for colic. Try swaddling the babies and lying them down on their left side (with some support so they don't roll over). Good luck! Remember colic usually says bye-bye by 6 months. Hang in there!

YES! We went to Weise Pharmacy over behind Publix on Roosevelt (a homeopathy pharmacy) and they make it up. It really did work with our little girl (who was up hours upon hours just crying throughout the night). That seemed to work much better than the pills or the gas stuff. We highly recommend it! Any homeopathy store or pharmacy should carry this. Weise Pharmacy however made their own which we really liked. Fresh camomile, ginger, etc.

I can assure you that the Gripe water is very good not only dor the colic but for others things in the baby. You may not find this item every where but you could check in a carribean store to find it. You will never want to be without it again.

Yes, I have heard of Gripe Water. I have forgotten where it can be found, but I thought Winn Dixie and Walgreens had it. It was used by close friends for their babies that had colic and they said it worked. Good Luck. It is out there and that is the name of it.

You can find it at drug stores and sometimes even walmart. It's safe and does seem to work. Anything to bring a smidge of peace can't hurt. Good luck and hang in there!

I used Gripe Water with both of my kids and it was great! The two brands I have had the most luck with, and each came highly recommended by several friends, were Baby's Bliss Gripe Water and Colic-Ease Gripe Water.
With my daughter the gripe water was all I ever needed.
With my son, though, I found that after a while with the gripe water it didn't work so great so I had to go back to Mylicon.
Congrats on your triplets, and I hope you find some relief with either the gripe water or mylicon!

I have a friend that is from England that is all they use over there for their babies with colic. Once she had her baby her family sent her some.
I have heard that it helps.
There is also a online or catalog called One Step Ahead and they have something called Happi Tummy for colic, it has great reviews.Hope this helps.

I have two of my own children and I haven't used Gripe water with either of them yet to this point. However, I was born and raised in England and ALL Brits swear by it. My parent's used it on me, my brother and sister and said that it's the best thing in the world for fussy/gassy/colicy babies. My sister will be bringing some with her when she visits us next week. Unfortunately I'm unsure as to where to find some over here.

I don't have triplets but my son was very colicy. I used the mylicon drops and they worked wonders. I also layed him down sideways(on his left side) to help aleviate the stomach presure he was feeling and that would give me a break from holding him at all times.

I hope this helps and good luck!

V.,

I used Gripe water with both of my kids, it is an all natural mixture of Fennel and Ginger. My kids did not have colic but I used it everytime they seems gasy, and it seemed to work for me. I got mine at Everman, you can order it on line from Babysbliss.com and you can usually get it a little cheaper. I would also recommend a baby probiotic that everman has, just to put the good bacteria in their systems to help them digest thier food. Good Luck!

Gripe water is used a lot in England and Australia.

My Australian neighbor gave me 3 bottles of it but my daughter HATED the taste of it and I ended up giving it away too. (my neighbor had moved back to Australia by that time. My daughter ended up using some Gerber Gas Relief. It worked like a charm.

I use Little Tummies for my baby now (6 months old) and it works well. (can't find the gerber gas relief.

I use Gripe Water with my son when he gets hiccups--works like a charm & gets rid of them, fast! I have used it once or twice when he had an upset stomache, also, and it worked well. You can get it at Walgreen's & Babies R Us.

Hi V.
I have a wonderful holistic pediatritain. Dr miles) Prog on Beach blvd.)
She explained to me to use probiotics...I will try and explain to you. when baby is not vaginally delivered and or you had epideral.. all MOTHERS and BABIES enzymes in stomach were destroyed by drugs ..So when you lay your baby down they have trouble digesting there food.. which causes horrible pain if you can imagine. What you do rite away is go get PROBIOTICS for Infants at a healthfood store.. (keep refridgerated) And PROBIOTICS for adults.. I always bought baby capsules as they were easier to carry from a to b Capsules were easier to open and poor in her mouth just before nursing her.. OR I would poor under toungue and then give a little gripe water (as it taste good) and it dillutes the powder quickly in her mouth. This process i did for a bout three weeks every day.. and it worked like a charm. NO more fussy baby.. She never liked to lay on her back anyway. so we rolled up a blanket like a tube and used it as back support and would lie her on her side. I found this info all very interesting .. and most moms dont know. thanks to DR miles!

We use to call Gripe Water "Happy Juice"! It was wonderful for my oldest but didn't work as well with my 4 month old. We use Mylecon drops with her. Good luck!

Gripe Water works well. We also used Dr. Brown bottles and had no problems after switching to these bottles. Good luck to your family.

Congratulations! A few things I have heard that work:
The Vaccum....sounds crazy but the noise soothes them. Gripe water worked for several of my friends but Mylicon always worked magic for me and my babies!
They are both very gentle and you give every time you feed them.
Best of luck!
