Need a New Foundation

I've been using Loreal Infallible for years but now they've "improved" the formula and it is horrible. I've been out testing foundation after foundation but nothing works, I need medium to full coverage for severe dark circles and bags under my eyes and melasma on my face. Anyone LOVE their foundation? What kind do you use? I can't use anything sheer, I have major issues to cover.

First of all, I think you should write to Loreal and tell them what you think. Maybe they have a stock of the old stuff they could give you to make up for it. Who knows!
I use Revlon Colorstay - which is pretty expensive, but it's really good stuff. about $10-12? But it really covers well. And it smells nice. Good luck!

I have been a faithful Bare Minerals user for almost 7 years and wouldn't use anything else. The foundation and the "bisque" (concealer) are amazing. I was skeptical at first but now I am a fan! It feels a little pricey up front but a little goes a very long way so you don't have to buy it very often. They have a store at MOA, sell kits at Target, Ulta or on line! Good luck!

I have to say no matter what foundation I use, I always buy Mary Kay under eye concealer. It is the best. Their foundation is ok too but haven't tried it in some time.

I have terrible blotchy skin from a combination of rosacea and childhood acne. I use Avon mineral powder foundation and it covers really well, and it stays on all day. It is reasonably priced also at $10.00/jar and occasional specials for less. If you don't know someone who sells Avon, go to Avon.com and you can order it direct. They have a lot of different colors. I blend two together to match my skin. Good luck.

I use the bare minerals foundation. It's made of all natural stuff. You can get it from QVC. It's a little expensive, but it lasts for a while. It only takes a little bit. They also make a bisque that you can use as a spot concealer. I would try that.

Have you contacted a Mary Kay consultant? She will treat you to complimentary makeover in your home at your convenience and work with you to find the shade and formula that is right for you. Plus, MK has the best foundation on the market at the $14 price point - it is much better than the price indicates.

I love Aveda's dual foundation! It is a powder and has great coverage, while looking soft and natural. I have tried Mary Kay and think that it is too heavy for me. I have also tried Bare Minerals, but it didn't give me the coverage I was looking for. The great thing about any of these products is that they all are guaranteed, so there is no risk with any of them! Good luck!

M.A.C. all the way!! Once I switched to using MAC I have never liked anything else for foundation. It is expensive but I only buy it twice a year (summer and winter).

Bare Minerals is great too. I wore it for my wedding before I found MAC, but I don't think it will cover like you want it to. My Mom also has dark circles and very uneven skin tone in areas and needs full-coverage. She liked bare minerals a lot but it didn't cover like she needed.

Mary Kay's liquid foundation and new mineral powder foundation are both awesome. The concealer works great as well. I am currently using the liquid with the mineral powder over the top and I love it. You can use the mineral powder alone, but you won't get as much coverage. Their highlighting pen is also fantastic! Contact me if you would like more information.

I LOVE Mary Kay mineral foundation (both powder and liquid). I just started using them for the first time 2 weeks ago and I can tell a BIG difference in the quality and coverage. I have breakouts and very uneven tone to my skin and their so med-full coverage products is all I use. Well I have found that I only need about half of my Mary Kay products opposed to the normal amount of what I used in the past.

Pretty sure you will have to order it, can not be found in stores.... I would just check out their website to see if you need to order through an consultant or can just order it through their website. I do not work for them, just LOVE their products. Oh and if the product does not work for you you can exchange it for something else or get your money back without jumping through hoops unlike products you buy in the store.

Hope you find something that works for you, I hate switching make-ups but when they change sometimes you have too!

I used to have the dark circles and bags too. Start with treating the cause olay reegenerist or garnier eye serums. Many differnt varieties out there. I have found that I see a noticable difference when I start one brand I use that til it is gone then I might/might not switch brands depends how I think the circles or puffiness looks. I actually have two brands I switch off and on right now. These types of serums also have formulas to help dark spots or age spot and overall complextion health. You might get surprised you won't need so much foundation then. and you will feel better about yourself without makeup too. I saw results honestly in a week or less when I started.

I too also need a lot of coverage. I use Bare Minerals and love it. I got my sister hooked recently and her skin is sooooo much better.

The nice thing about Bare Minerals is is looks BETTER as the day goes on. I doubt if any liquid foundation can say that!

Like anything of quality it's a little pricey but worth the $$ since it actually HELPS your skin. I wish I had this stuff in high school!

I love MAC foundation and Arbonne foundation. I too have the dark circles and I love both products. I would suggest the Arbonne personally because of your melasma. Their product are very pure and safe and all the consultants I've met has always tried to get me the deal because I too am a SAHM as well as themselves. Also being a military spouse we know all to well how tight money can get in a matter of moments. So any way I used the MAC foundation on my wedding day and it did wonders! Well there's my 2 cents, good girlfriend!

I know other people have said it too, but go to www.marykay.com. You can then find a consultant near you through the locator on the website. The consultant can then come over to give you a FREE facial and explain the many products for you. There are several different kinds of foundations, so you can find the best one for you. There is also a product called the Eye Revitalizer that targets dark circles. Mary Kay's prices are great but you also get very high quality.

I've had the same thing happen before with discontinued products -- so frustrating!
I have sensitive skin, so I'm picky and can't usually use drug store products. I use Bare Minerals for daily wear, but you may want to get an undereye creme and/or other concealer to use with it. It seems like it would be sheer, but it does provide a good amount of coverage. The other foundation I like, that I got specifically for on-camera use is Makeup Forever HD foundation. It's pricy, but it's a large bottle and it really does create a nice finish with good coverage that stays put. Probably more similar to what you've been using. Find someplace that sells either/both products (like Sephora or Ulta) and have them do a full application for you so you can see how it would cover and wear before you buy.

I love my Bare Escentuals foundation! It's a powder and covers great. I've always had a problem with acne and redness around my nose and this foundation covers everything and stays put. It's a little pricier than a drug store brand, but you don't have to use as much to get the coverage you're looking for so it lasts longer.

I wear Bare Mineral and LOVE it. You determine the amount of coverage by how you apply it. I don't know where you live, but Sephora and Bare Mineral stores are in some bigger cities like St. Louis. In some area where JcPenny's has cosmetics they carry it. Or you can order it online from the Bare Essentuals website. You can buy a started kit the has the brushes you need, 2 pots of foundation, mineral veil and an instruction video. Good lich to you.

Try the MAC line of cosmetics. They are not cheap (around $25-$30 for foundation), but they are amazing and last forever. I buy foundation about twice a year.

For foundation, I use their "Studio Fix", which is actually a very heavy powder. It sounds crazy, but it provides more coverage than a lot of liquid foundations.

If you are looking for some major coverage, they do have "Studio Tech" foundation. I have used that in the past when I wanted some serious coverage, and it is very natural looking. Also, MAC has quite a range of colors, so finding a good match is easy.

Not all the MAC counters carry all the different types of foundation. The MAC store out at the Mall of America carries them all. Every MAC cosmetologist I have ever talked to has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They can help you pick the right combo. Good luck!
