We got invited to a Halloween party and were told we all had to be in costume. Dressing up my daughter is easy but I have not idea what to wear. I have not worn a costume since I was 10 years old. Any ideas? Thanks much

What can I do next?

Your daughter could be a teddy bear, and you dress in pajamas, so she's the bear you cuddle with. You could be Dorothy, and she could be Toto. Or another thought is you could be Little Bo Peep, and your daughter a sheep. I like the PJ's idea best. It's easy, and practically free! Have fun!

Hi G.,
You're welcome to use our idea. Our daughter is going to be a bumblebee and my hubby and I are going as bee keepers. You just need a jumpsuit, a hat and then glue netting to it.

Have a great time!

Hi G.

One year my husband and I went to a Halloween party. My husband and I went as Bob the builder and his assistant Wendy. I took yellow yarn and made a wig out of it. When we got to the Halloween party all the kids knew immediately who we were, they loved it.

Love A.

Hello G.,
I'm looking for a Halloween costume myself. Yesterday I googled "Ideas for Halloween Costumes" and got some decent ideas. You could wear a blue dress with devil horns and be a "devil with the blue dress on" (it's a song). You could get blue sweats and glue cotton to them and carry a squirt gun with you, then tell people "I'm partly cloudy with a chance of showers" and squirt them with water! Or you could write "Go Ceilings" on a t-shirt, carry pompoms and be a ceiling fan. (I'm considering that idea). I'd rather do something creative than buy a costume. If you have time, google it and see if anything interests you. Good luck and Happy Halloween!

One year my daughters went as a firewoman and a dalmation.

For the dalmation, I used a white sweatsuit and sewed black felt patches on it (I wanted to use the sweat shirt and pants again) or you could just use fabric paint. For the head I sewed black felt ears onto a white hat.

For the firewoman, use a yellow raincoat, some boots, and one of those cheap plastic red hats (usually given out free at fairs and public safety events).

What cute ideas so far!

i would also suggest doing something in unison with your daughter's costume, if possible.

Are you going as a pair? An easy costume for parents is to be a black eyed P. Dress as you normally would and put a BLACK Letter "P" around your eye.
