Congratulations!!!!

My family also waited a long time for us, we took our time before deciding to get pregnant.

Here is how we told them: We invited them over to dinner (which we do a few times a month) and told them my husband had been on the news and interviewed in a segment and we had recorded it for them to see. When we played the video it wasn't of the news, it was of our little peanut in her first sonogram video. THEY FLIPPED! We hid a video camera and recorded their reaction. So glad we did!

A friend I work with became a first-time grandmother. Her daughter and son-in-law had a dinner for the family. After dinner they gave them each a wrapped gift-- inside were t-shirts that she had printed up that said, "I'm the Grandma," "I'm the Aunt," etc.

It was right before Father's day when I got pregnant. The way I told my husband was to give him a book on fathers. It took him a while to "get it," even after he read the inscription. :o)

Congrats to you!

I found out I was pregnant right before Thanksgiving so I waited until we went home for Christmas and we could tell our parents in person. After all the gifts were exchanged we gave them cards.... my parents got "Merry Christmas Grandma/Grandpa" cards, my sister got "Aunt", etc. they were signed "See you in July! Love, Baby Smith"..... they were floored! My husband's grandmother saved her "great grandma" card... she loves to look at it, lol.

I know father's day is coming up, if there is a birthday or other event you could buy cards for that, or you could write a special note in a blank card and sign it from the baby.

Congratulations to you and your husband.

My husbands parents are big coffee drinkers. And were VERY ready to be grandparents.
So I mailed them each a Grandma and Grampa coffee mug.. 10 years later they still use those chipped up mugs :)

It was hard waiting the whole week till they got them but when they did...:)

If you haven't already had your first sonogram, I'd wait for that.

You could give them a Sumo Cookie. www.sumocookie.com You can put a fortune inside of it telling them your great news. Congrats!

When we told my inlaws we gave my mother in law a book titled, 'Funny you don't look like a Grandmother'. It took her a minute but she got what we were telling her.

Have fun this is a great time for you!
