My daughter is 14 months and I've put off her 1st dentist visit cause I dont know of any good ones. All of my dentists are male and not old but they would scare my daughter. And what do they do for the first visit. I dont know if she will open her mouth for anyone cause she barely opens up for me!

YOu really don't need to go yet. My daughter is the same age and her dentist recommends waiting until her 2 yr molars are in or if you see white spots on her teeth.
We go to Dr. Dooce on Thousand Oaks dr. I have a 4 year year old son and this dentist has NEVER made him scared. He and his staff are AMAZING!

Dr. Bob James in San Antonio is awesome. He was my dentist as a child and my friends now take their kids to him too. He dresses up like spiderman, etc. and the kids love it!

My son is 4 years old and my husband took him to the dentist last week. My son has such a good time that he told me all about his visit. I even checked it out on-line and it looked like a fun place for kids. It's called Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry (Dr. Susie Hayden or Dr. Courtney Alexander) located @ 20322 Huebner Road - ###-###-####. This is their website if you'd like to check them out www.sopdtx.com

I am a SAHM with three kids. (9, 8, and 2 yrs) I have a REALLY GOOD dentist. She has been with my daughter, who is 2yrs, since her first visit. I know what you mean about your daughter barely even opening her mouth for you because my daughter is the same way. She is located at the corner of Babcock and Wurzbach. She's a female maybe in her mid 30's and she is great with all my kids. Her name is Judy Cabaza and her number is ###-###-####. You should give her a call and see if you guys would be a good fit.
I see on your "A little about me:" that you and me might have more than our daughters in common. I am a working mom gone stay at home mom. I know exactly what you are going through. If you ever want to talk (have some adult convo and not just baby talk) my email address is ____@____.com...

Hi. My sister works for a Pediatric Dentist. I just recently took my son to her office and it was so much fun for my son. The dentist and all of her assistants were wonderful and plenty of entertainment while the teeth are being worked on. You can visit their website at sopdtx.com.

Hi J.:

I was a Dental Assistant for 4 years before I got pregnant with my twins... we recommended for children to come for their first check up at age 3, unless there was a problem going on. Most of the time, if you wait until they're 3, then their social skills are a little better, and they generally do better at the dentist office. Unfortunately, I don't know any doctors in the area, b/c I am from Georgia, so I can't help you find a doctor. But I can tell you that if you take your daughter to a PEDIATRIC dentist, it will be FAR less traumatic on her. B/c that's all pediatric dentists do is see children, so they are better equipped with fun stuff for the kids, and things in general to make your daughter more comfortable. Hope this helps you. And so you know, I am a 23 yr. old stay at home Mom too, so if you ever feel like you're going too crazy, feel free to get in touch with me! :) My email address is ____@____.com luck to you and God Bless, H.

You might try Dr. Susie Hayden. Her office is in the Stone Oak area. She is a pediatric dentist and is great with children.
