Nature Babycare Sold at Target

I purchased the diaper rash cream from your store a few months ago and have only used it a few times when out of the house. I noticed that my baby would cry after applying it, but thought it was just her being fussy until yesterday while changing her diaper, she started wheezing and crying very emphatically. So, I took a wash cloth and wiped off her area, and she immediately stopped crying. I wanted to test out the product myself, so I applied the cream and at first, nothing felt different, but after a few seconds, the burning became very intense. I washed off the cream, not wanting to find out how bad the burning could actually get. From now on, I will be trying out any product on myself before putting it on my baby. Has anyone else had this problem with this product or heard of anything of this nature? I wouldn't wish this on any other parents.

What can I do next?

Hi
Thanks for the warning. I have used "butt paste" or Zinc oxide on both my babies, and they work well.
Good luck

I haven't used that brand of diaper cream, but the SAME EXACT THING happened when I put Desitin on my daughter!!! We thought she was having respiratory problems and we took her to urgent care...they sent us home saying that she was fine.

I stopped using that cream, because I noticed an association between the cream and the wheezing, and started using Arbonne Baby Care diaper rash cream. The wheezing and crying never happened again, and the cream healed her rash very quickly. Thank you Arbonne!

Hi K.!

I have had similar instances...

I have always used Desitin Creamy (original Desitin doesn't work for us) on my own children as well as children that I had nannied for. What I have found is that applying to skin that is NOT broken out into a rash will prevent it BUT (no pun intended! Haaha!) if it is applied to skin with a rash that is there already then it burns terribly (his reaction was like being tortured! So sad and I couldnt get it off fast enough for him! A quick trip to the bathtub really did the trick and distacted his situation as well as relieved the pain but I would suggest no bubbles as it may make matters worse and aggitate it. ) so if there was already a rash, I would do no diapers and let the air heal it after I had cleaned it with plain water. Sometimes certain wipes will also irritate skin so try taking any wipes that have fragrance or lotions and rinsing them with water before using them. You can rinse some wipes and put them in a ziploc baggy for when you are away from home. Checking/Changing diapers more often will help prevent rash and I have found that namebrand diapers (Huggies, Pampers, Luvs) really do hold wetness away from the skin better helping to prevent. When skin is back to normal then I have found that applying the Desitin Creamy at every change really prevents diaper rash.

Sorry about writing a novel! I hope this helps.

When my children were small, I never liked using any diaper rash creme-babysitters would use them on my daughters and it only appeared as if the rash would get worse. I got advice from family who all rcommended I heat up cornstarch in a clean frying pan & place it in a santized sale shaker container & use that on my daughters with diaper rash- in 2-3 days the rash would literally diasppear with no scars or irriation or side affects- and my daughters would not cry. I had them seen by 3 seperate pediatricians who all strongly recommened I continued to use the same home rememdy as they each quoted-most diaper raash cremes may contact alchol or some type of perfume which can irritate the rash....I SWEAR by this home remedy

I also bought this diaper rash cream and it didn't seem to hurt my son, but it doesn't work. I tried applying to myself to see if it burned and I didn't feel anything... I use triple paste for "bad" diaper rash or butt paste.
