Hi Moms, My 9 yo daughter just read her first Nancy Drew Notebook Series chapter book and LOVED it! Up until now, she has not 'chosen' to read on her own and with this book she was even reading in the car on the way to and from school! So I would like to get more of these books while she is still interested in them. Do any of you have any you would be willing to sell? I don't have the money right now to buy any new one's so I'm hoping to find someone who maybe has a whole set their child has outgrown or keep my eye out at Goodwill and garage sales for them. Or even any other chapter books that a 4th grade girl would like to read! Any help would be appreciated! I'm in Gilbert...Thanks Moms!!!

Don't forget used book stores. We love Bookmans (there's one at Southern/Country Club). If you can gather old books, you get more if you buy on trade rather than cash. They don't take everything, but we usually do pretty good.

I don't have any books for you but I wanted to tell you that I read them when I was a kid and LOVED them too! They were the only series of books I remember reading other than some Beverly Cleary. I had my books for a long time but they got old and funky in storage. It is so cool that they are still popular. I have been tempted to read one as a 'grown up' to see if they are as enticing as I remember. Anyway, I was going to suggest the library to you. But maybe she wants them as keepers. Happy reading!

I don't own any, but my daughter loves them too. We always check them out from Southeast Regional Library in Gilbert. They have them all.

I have nancy drew books, not sure if they are the notebook series or not. I would be willing to loan them to your daughter. My kiddos are still too little for chapter books. Email me if you are interested ____@____.com

For now I'd go to the library. I just sold a bunch of mine at a garage sell this summer.
I sold them cheap too, so garage sales are a good bet if you want to buy.

I loved Nancy Drew when I was young. I never could get into the Agatha Christy (may have spelled it wrong). If she likes Nancy Drew she may like Ann of Green Gables. There are a lot of other books I can't think of now. I want to saw Frontier books, check out the library they are the least expensive. Besides they grow out of these phases so quickly now. She may not like them in a few weeks to a year or so.

Take care,
K.

Try a used book store.... thrift stores like goodwill and Desert, also I am sure the library has a ton of them. I have an 8 yr old girl that loves the books... I think she is on #20. Good luck.

F.,
My son and I just got back from Savers and discovered an amazing deal there. All childrens books are 69 cents a book, and if you buy four books you get one free! We wound up getting about 20 books for $12. The Savers on Arizona Ave is much more organized with their book selection and we had soooo much fun looking through the books and seing which ones we wanted. I saw the Hardy Boys series that your daughter might enjoy. Good luck with your search!

Also try half.com or Amazon (click on the "buy used" link). You can usually get mass market paperbacks for a couple bucks each including shipping -- for example: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0671879529/
