This is for the teething issue. My son cut teeth very early (he is almost done with teeth and only 15 months). He hated both the orajel and cold teething rings.

Things to try - wet wash cloth that you let him chew on, cold carrot, teething ring that is not cold (son loved it)

Feel free to use the cold & orajel. ( don't forget they need to be cleaned even at this age) I would recommend seeing a dentist this month.

Hi A.,
I was told my my pediatric nurse that children's Motrin was a better pain reliever for teething than Tylenol. So that's what I use for my baby along with the teething tablets you can buy at Walmart, the pharmacy can show you what shelf they are on.(usually with the vitamins at the opposite end of the shelf away from where the vitamins are. They are all natural & do not cause any harm to your baby. Not even when given with motrin.
I give them both at the same time. The teething tablets dissolve under the tongue but you could put a touch of water on your finger & dissolve it between your finger & then place it on her tongue or inside her cheek.
as for the nail biting you can buy stuff to put on her nails that taste terrible, supposedly it works, I've never had to use it but know people who have.

Offer to give your daughter a manicure. Most little girls LOVE nail polish. They also make some that tastes bitter to keep people from biting their nails. My oldest chewed his nails when he was very young (to the point of infection). One day, he say me painting my nails and wanted his painted as well...I told him that mommy would have to trim his nails to paint them and he let me do it. I used clear nail polish.

As for the teething...teething tablets, a pacifier?

I tried the yucky nail polish with my 3.5 year old, but she just peeled it off. We went to a store and she found a sparkly ring she wanted. I told her if she didn't bite her nails for a month, I'd get it for her. When I'd see her doing it, I'd remind her, and it'd make her stop. I was surprised. After a month, we got the ring, and she was mostly over her habit, but if she did bite her nails here and there, I"d remind her about her ring.

My daughter started teething at about 2 1/2months too! I gave her orajel. The tube says "pea-size" amount and give her prob half that. Also, try gripe-water (or as I like to call it miracle water lol)

I bit my nails till I was 8. My favorite aunt made a comment about how she had always wanted long nails and was not able to grow them. She said she admired my moms nails and thought it was a shame that I bit mine, cause she (my aunt) would love to give me a pedicure and paint them a pretty pink. That did it for me. I quit and then 2 weeks later, I was able to call my aunt and ask if she thought my nails were long enough. She was so excited she picked me up, did my nails and we went to a nice lunch, just the 2 of us. I was thrilled. we had never been anywhere just the 2 of us. So maybe think of a special treat that your daughter would enjoy as a reward for not biting her nails.

For your 2 month old, you may want to consider wetting baby wash cloths and then freezing them. Then give them to your baby to chew on. We did this for our daughter and it worked great.

This also says 4 months, but if she seems really uncomfortable I would talk to my doctor since these are all natural to see if he / she thinks it would be OK to use.

I second the No Bite by Orly. At 31 its the only thing that helps me stop biting my nails. You polish and it last several days. It cant wash off. The taste is so awful you began to stop biting unconciously. I used it on my 2 year-old pacifier to wean her worked in 2 days. Good Luck

Don't kow about the nail biting but I use Hylands teething tablets for the teething. They are 'all natural' and work quickly!

I've been told by many people... Give the 2 mon old a big chunk of onion to chew on. The enzymes in the onion numb the gums. It can't hurt to try it. Supposed to work really good!

I know there is some nail polish that is not poisonous or anything but it tastes very bad and makes children not want to bite their nails. I think you can get it at a beauty supply or here is a link to one brand I found: http://www.folica.com/Orly_No_Bite_d515.html - you will probably have to copy and paste the link. Its also good for stopping thumb sucking.

For the 2 month old, check out Hyland's Teething Tablets, they are miracle pills and homeopathic so they won't harm your baby. They sell them at Walgreens and most drugstores I believe. I know Babies R Us has them as well. They will help your baby sleep too! http://www.hylands.com/products/teething.php
