My Two-year-old Nudist

My baby is just starting it and she is 19 months. I remember when I was a child I was a "nudist." I remember my parents telling me if company was over I couldn't come out of my room if I didn't have clothes on. I was always quick to take my clothes off, even outside (we lived in the country with no neighbors). I can't tell you when or how, but I outgrew it, LOL. =)

I have two nudists in the house. My four year old (who is starting to grow out of it, Praise God!) and just recently my 2 year old. My two year old is just starting, the hardest thing with him is that he's not potty trained yet, so I'm trying to keep at least a diaper on him. My four year old went all last year (when he was three) naked as much as possible. He would scream when I put clothes on him, then be fine all morning at preschool, but the moment he walked in the door... zoom! Off went the clothes!
I allow them to run nude in the house, but if they want to go outside they have to put clothes on. Seems to be working, win-win situation.

This is so normal and actually quite typical.
My daughter was quite a little nudey and her grandmother threw an absolute fit like there was something nasty about it. She almost had a coronary because I took a picture of my daughter in the bathtub and offered her a copy. With all the bubbles, you couldn't even see anything but her grandmother said, "It doesn't matter! We all know she's naked!"

I personally think that little kids should be able to be naked while they can. I mean, you wouldn't have a large dinner party and a little nudist running around in front of everybody, but 2 year olds wanting their clothes off kind of goes with the territory. They do outgrow it. They really, really do.

My kids loved running around naked after the bath and standing in front of the fireplace to warm their tushies.
Trust me, when they get older, you will miss the pitter patter of little naked feet streaking around the house.

Yes, except mine is 4.5! She constantly changes outfits or just takes everything off!

My daughter went through this all summer- she just quit one day. Thank goodness. It was so hard. I can't say that we did anything except we are potty training and part of what was bothering her was her diaper.

Oh I had one of these. He would run around all the time with no clothes on. Don't worry. He stopped. One day his brother made fun of him. That was that.

My 4 y/o doesn't want to get dressed after getting out of the bath tub & will stay naked as long as possible, streaking through the house, laughing about it. Then when she's just changing clothes, she'll tell either me or her daddy (or other family, if they're around) "Don't look at my naked butt!" Lol...so I'd have to say she outgrows it twice a day & then goes back ;)
But realistically, every child is different & will outgrow this in his/her own time.

My nudist is nearly nine and she would remain nude from bathtime until the bus comes in the morning if her daddy would let her. We have to order her to put clothes on and she has no shame at all.

When she was four, we walked into the back room at ballet. She saw older girls removing the top layer of clothing to reveal their leotards underneath.
She ripped her clothes off right there to put her leotard on instead of using the changing room and was not embarrassed when I talked to her about it.

She is aware that we must close and lock the door when trying on clothes at the mall. She also quit trying to answer the door with just a towel around her waist. LOL It is a game to hear her daddy yell "Naked! I see naked butt!"
He was trying to shame her, but she made it a game.

I used to come down and find my little boy nude all the time! He would be sitting there playing a video game or whatever-in the buff! Just loved to be naked! He has totally outgrown this now and is even a little modest when other people are around.

lol my mom says everytime she turned her back on me I was streaking till I was almost 5. I embarassed her with my "Shiny Hiney" more than once, as she put it. My kids are the opposite. They want to wear every article of clothing they have, all at once. Kids....what're ya gonna do? gotta love it.

Not sure when she outgrew it, but we used to joke that our 16 year old would put herself through med school someday as a stripper! It's a phase.

My 3yr old loves to be naked too. I think it stems from natural instinct,feeling free etc.
As you know children don't feel the chains of socialisation as us adults do so I would say let him enjoy this free innocent time in his own house while he/she can. Life will teach him/her in the next few years what is socially accepted etc.
I love the ways of a child, they are free to express themselves how they feel and think.

My daughter is 3 and she has never pitched a fit about wearing clothes and she has never randomly undressed herself, but she does like streaking just a little after her bath. She runs around laughing and yelling, "Naked butt! Naked butt!"
