Okay so it started with a stomach virus with flu like symptoms. We then all came down with a really bad cold. I kind of the routine with her already so I upped the flovent to twice a day albuterol 3 times a day and her cingulair at night. she got better after 2 wks but only for a couple of days just enought for her to get seen for her 3 yr check up and the dr say she is perfect we took her off all the meds expect cingulair. and oh man it came back this time she was coughing and coughing thrwoing up bcs of the phlem. I take her back to the drs office he puts her on claritin and cingulair at night and flovent twice a day he says he was going to see how that went if it would not emprove then we had to give her albuterol but I just didn't feel right about it. That same day I had gone to my dr bcs I ended up from the cold with sinusitis and they gave me an antibiotic for it my dr didnt check the baby but he said sounds like she has whooping cough and she would need antibiotic but her ped insisted it was an allergy thing nothing with infections. So I ended up going on my own to her Allergist and he said it had been to long of a time for her to be that way it must of turned into an upper respitory infection and put her on Zitromax for 5 days kept her on claritin and cingulair and albuterol with pulmicort 3 times a day for 2 wkshe said I should see improvement with her caugh by the 3rd day.

What can I do next?

Your childs needs help from a natural/alternative medicine physician - all those medicines aren't making her healthy, they are weakening her. Therapies that balance and strengthen her digestive and immune systems will help; colostrum, probiotics, vitamin c & other antioxidants, liquid mineral supplements, etc. For wiping out infections MMS (miracle mineral solution) is a good resource. A diet with lots of fresh fruits and veggies can also be helpful in clearing congestion - cut out dairy foods and anything with refined sugars or anything fried or greasy as those suppress the immune system.

I have posted this before, but she sounds just like my daughter, and I witnessed a miracle with it, so I would like to share. My daughter developed RSV at two months of age and was hospitalized. She never got better. Just better enough to be out of the hospital. She struggled to breathe so badly! The pulmonologist put her on albuterol and pulmocort nebulizers. She had to have one of each every three hours. They didn't work, so he kept increasing her dosages. Still didn't work. I can still remember the horrid gurgling noises her chest made! The meds caused acid reflux and she would aspirate and get sicker yet, so they put her on zantac. At one point, my pharmacist refused to fill her prescriptions, stating no baby should be on those dosages of medications. I was at my wit's end. At this point she had been chronically ill for over 6 months. I had just started working for a chiropractor and was just venting to him about my frustrations and heartache with Veronica. He told me to bring her in. What? He explained to me how different nerves control different bodily functions and wanted to manipulate her spine where the nerves are that control lung function. I was very skeptical. I had always thought chiropractors just helped with sore backs! I brought her in and he saw her about 3 times a week for a month. By the end of that month, she was completely off ALL of her meds, and perfectly healthy! She has never had a lung condition again! I get her adjusted once every other month now. She is healthy as an ox, and is 8 1/2 years old now.

I am a firm believer in nutrition and have seen chronically ill people drastically improve just by taking some good vitamins and adding in nutrition. I have some ideas for you. If you are interested email me and I will send you some information.

If you email me remind me of your daughters age, that she has been on a round of antibiotics and fights allergies. Any other health concerns.

have you treid going the natural route? I hate putting my kids on drugs - for anything unless they really need it. My son (now 4) got croup 2 years in a row as a baby. I started giving him elderberry tablets (also comes as a syrup) and that boosted his immune system. No more croup! When he gets allergies I do use the children's zyrtec and that helps him a lot. I would try the elderberry to boost her immune system - that way she doesn't get sick nearly as often. It tastes great too - not like regular medicine. We called it berry juice and my son licked the spoon! Good luck to you - nothing worse than a sick kid. U can take the elderberry too!!

Keep up with the medical checkups, and look into Stonyfield Farms yogurts. They have a great yogurt culture that helps your internal system. We gave that to my son and he had very few illnesses in daycare aftewards. I can't prove that it made the difference, but I would do it again in a minute. It tastes good and is healthy, so why not try it? Otherwise, go to a heath food store and look for some children's probiotics. There should be someone in the vitamin section to help you with your questions.

Hi Yamy,

She's had so many drugs that her own immune system can't function. She needs a jump start to help her get over these things. Meds break down the immune system sometimes worse than the actual illness. She's plenty old enough for a chewable vitamin/mineral complex. Make sure it is absorbable and not a Flintstones or a gummy whatever. Most of them are more dangerous than not having one at all. You need one that is a pharmaceutical grade. Our family uses a vitamin that is guaranteed to absorb.

she also needs to be on a probiotic/prebiotic to reverse the damage done by all the antibiotics. Most cause candida and that has to be removed, it doesn't go away on it's own. It also will break down the immune system.

Don't let this overwhelm you. If you need help, ask!

God bless,

M.
