ok, i got it...if he's like most kids that age he likes firemen. how about call your local station - they might give them a tour, stickers, etc. you can invite a small group of buddies and have then dress up (my son loved doing that). we did that and they were kind enough to even take us for a ride in the truck!!!! it was a huge success...then stop by a park to have a little picnic afterwards or something.
they barely remember so don't go crazy with spending money : ) good luck!

Bowling parties are fun and cheaper then most. At least in our area. What about putt putt/mini golf? A fire house? Laser Tag party (do they still have them?) Swim party, roller skate party. Hope you find something fun for your son. What did he suggest??

How much money do you want to spend?

You can go to ChuckECheese or Gattitown if you want to go less expensive. If you want to go all out, Powersports does a decent party, but it is expensive per child. $250 minimum. Lasertag at Grand Station is always popular with the boys, but, again, pricy! Ice skating- don't know the price on that. Or the movies is $15 per kid.

well it depends where you live, how much money you want to spend, how many people you will invite, and so on. I live in a place where the nearest twon to have fun is 2 hours away. Try having a party at a park, swimming center, or pizza place, maybe even a bolwing alley. It depends on our money situation where we have our kids birthday party.
