My almost 2 year old is doing this as I am sitting here writing this. The solution that I have found, as other mom's have mentioned....Pull-Ups. I tried to find some with characters on them that she likes. So when its time to put them on, I point out the mouse (for example)on the pull up, and she is so fascinated with it, she actually gets mad when its time to change. We are also working on the potty training right now. She is on her own schedule, but we make it fun....she even asks to sit on the potty when I change her. Hope this works.

S.,

I hope your problem is solved by now but when I read post like yours I think it is definately him telling you that he does not like diapers and might be ready for potty training. I did infant potty training with my younger one and he was without diapers pretty much from 18 months on. Did he have accidents? Yes, he did! But washing a pair of underware (I use the gerber training underpants that a padded in the crouch) and shorts or pants at that age is minimal due to the size, not like our husbands jeans eg. If he has an accident just give him new clothes and tell him in a non threating way that pee goes into the toilet.

If you want to know more about infant potty training or elimination communication you can google that. You son is not an infant anymore but these women have a lot of good tips that can be used by anybody who is ready to get their children to the bathroom.

I had the same problem with me little girl she hated the diaper. I had to keep on a pair of shorts or those plastic underwear (I don't know if you can get them anymore).I would also let her run around naked after she had gone #2 for a while. I also started potty training when she was dueing this. You can also get the pull ups or the swimmers what ever ones you can get in the size he is wearing. My girl started wonted to use the potty. They due tare on the side.(it took me a while to figure this out.)

My son is doing the same thing and it's driving me crazy! Mine is a little over two though. He's not ready for potty training yet but I have him in pullups. He doesn't figit with them or yank them off. He can get his diaper off with zip up jammies on! I may try putty underware over his diapers...that or ducktape! I'm hoping you get some good responses.

I used to put my kids in onesies and that's it to stop this, but you might want to just try a potty and let him go naked. Up to you, but i'd give it a try. Roll up the carpets and just go with it.

Of course, this is being said by a mom who has a lazy 3.5 yo who won't housetrain :).

Plastic underwear...even start introducing him to the pot do not expect him to use it faithfully though just have fun with it and who knows he may catch on quick and like it and potty training maybe smooth sailing for you! I don't see this as a problem just move on to the next step and go with the flow...
