I need ideas to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday. We thought it would be fun to have it at a bowling alley, but that was too pricey. I don't really want to have a big party at my house. His friends get a little rowdy. His Birthday is Saturday, Sept. 1st. He usually works on Saturdays untill 7 p.m. I'm not sure if he'll have to work that day or not, but he probablly will. He knows a lot of people from the car clubs he is in. I'm thinking at least 15 or more guests. I just wanted to hear what other wives came up with. Thanks -J.-

What can I do next?

Throw him a surprise party. I threw one for my hubby on his 30th. My brother is in a band so we reserved the ampitheater at Freestone Park and one of the ramadas nearby and we had subs all the fixings and cake. Everyone had a blast and he was completely surprised. Since your husband doesn't get home until later have everyone there when he gets there.

If he's into cars, what about the classic car show at the "Rock and Roll" McDonald's at the Pavilions shopping center in Scottsdale. There are lots of restaurant options in the area...just a thought.

I am amazed at the dates we have in common. My husband turns 31 this Sept 1st! I just turned 27 on July 1st, your son's birthday, my son just turned 1 on June 30th.
Anyways, I am in Gilbert too, I am from Tucson, maybe we can get together and have a play date sometime after your big party! My suggestion is to reserve a spot at a bar/restaurant. Buy 1st round and shots or something for your husbands 30th and a few appitizers. Maybe send out an e-vite inviting them to share in the festivities of your husbands coming of age:) and that the first round of drinks is on you. Thats easy, let me know if you want more ideas!
Good Lunck,
J.

What does you husband enjoy doing in his spare time?

For one of my husband's birthdays we had a small family party at our home. He had really been wanting to go deep sea fishing, so we arranged for him to go with some friends. When it was time to open gifts, every card had money to go towards his deep sea fishing trip. He was surprised and we created a birthday that will have lasting memories.

You don't have to have a large party to say, "You are special." Have a party at the park-Freestone Park in Gilbert is fun because they have large hills that you can slide down with cubes of ice. You could have an old fashioned picnic with three legged races, sack races etc. Or just bring a football or frisbee for the 'guys' to throw around.

You don't have to pay for all of the food yourself. If you throw your own party ask each guest to bring a side dish to share. You can give them specifics or just have it be more of a potluck. I know it is still warm in September, as my birthday is the day after his, but outdoor stuff with his friends will keep the rowdiness outside!

If you need more help, just let me know. I love to plan parties and have lots of ideas, but I would probably be writing for hours if I shared all of my ideas. So, just let me know! Good luck!
