NO, children get teeth at a huge range of ages. Some are born with some , some wait a year. It's not abnormal at all. I have two kids that got them at 5 mos and my third child didn't get them until over 9 mos. You just have to be choosy what you give them to eat.

The longer they stay in the better the teeth are. If you are worried about it the dentist can do an xray. My children went to the dentist at age 1 year and never had problems getting them to go. The early the better. I also agree with the other mom comment about food and etc. Dont worry about it. My son didnt have teeth till he was 13 months he got his first tooth. He never was bothered by fever either.

No need to worry--mine didn't get her first until 10 months. There is a wide range of normal in this and many other areas when it comes to babies. Be glad for it:) Less biting while nursing! In terms of solid foods it doesn't really matter --they don't use the first ones they get in to chew the food--the front teeth come in first and you don't use those to chew up your food. For a long while, children "gum" their table food pieces so when you feel ready you can try table foods. My daughter refused all jar food at 10 months and she had one silly tooth. My daycare baby is now 9 months old with two front teeth and she can "gum" most bread, crackers, cheese, ground beef, turkey, chicken breast bits (moist cooking method), soft fruit pieces (banana, peach, plum, pear, orange) minus the peel and membrane. Hope this helps:)

nope not at all. i am not a professional just a mom. my daughter is 7 months and has 6 teeth and seems to be wanting to grow some more. a baby that was born with in a few weeks of her has no teeth..not a one. some kids dont start growing teeth untill they are one. breastfead or not. kids tend to do things when they are good and ready. not when books/doctors suggest they should. developmental things are included. sometimes they are very early sometimes they are far behind. and it can vary with your own kids! congrats on your new baby.

cutting teeth for a baby is like when they grow hair everyone if different, check with your parents and husbands parents and find out when you both got your teeth, your child should be about the same age that is something that is determined by you as his parents.

Nah, my first son didn't get teeth till around 9 months. I know people whose babys were toothless at 12 months. They will come in soon. Take a ton of pics of the gummy smile...once the teeth come in they look so much older :'(

He's still within normal range. My daughter cut her first tooth at 13 months, too. She has beautiful, strong, straight teeth. Before teeth, she chewed really well with her gums.

My first baby didn't get a single tooth until she was a year old.
Lots of babies teethe later. I don't think it's anything to be too concerned about.

Don't worry, my son didn't get his first tooth until 10 1/2 months. I thought the same thing, but my ped said sometimes kids don't get teeth until 12 months and that is considered the norm.

mine didn't get them until 10 months......i too, was worried. But, my ped said it is normal to get the first tooth up to 18mo. I love the toothless grin, and the longer they are toothless, the longer you have to NOT worry abotu brushing teeth.

Nope. My first born's didn't come in until after one year. They say the later they come in the stronger they'll be. It's been true in our case. He's almost 7 and has only lost one baby tooth with no more in sight yet.

Savor being able to breastfeed without little teeth scraping!

My oldest daughter didn't get her first tooth until 14 months! Just within the very wide range of "normal" for this, which is about 5-15 months, believe it or not. If you read Joseph Chilton Peirce's "The Magical Child", he talks about brain growth as being related to phases of teething, among other things. It makes sense and you will start to notice phases of behavior and learning associated with the same timing of teething.

Nope, I used to work for a dentist and the later they get their teeth the better it is for their teeth. I wouldn't worry about it, but if it concerns you mention it to your pediatrician at your next visit. They are trained to recognize any issues and will refer you to a pediatric dentist if needed.
