Good morning,
My son is 15 months and after his sister got a stomach bug 2 weeks ago he got it Weds of last week. I expected him to be puking for a few days and of course he did, but then it continued into the weekend so I was going to call his DR. but Monday came and no puking then yesterday it started again after dinner. The poor kid hasnt eaten anything but crackers and pidalyte for a week. He is fussier than normal but doesnt seem sick in any other way. No runny nose, no fever, no coughing, alittle diarrhea on Monday but not even a bowel movement yesterday. He ws up cring most of the night last now, which is the first night he has done that. I am going to try to see if his DR. will see him today but I was wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for your replies. I took him to his Dr and as you all said, its just a virus that has to run it course. Poor little guy has lost some weight as well. He seems to be doing better today, still not eating alot but at least he is looking at food like he may want to give it a try. Oh, Cherry Jello seems to be staying down :) Thanks again! Is it me or does it just seems all the bugs are getting worse and worse every year :(

My six year old daughter has been off and on vomiting and diareah for close to three weeks. The same situation. One day she's sick one day she's fine. She even got sent home from school for soiling herself. Now she has to wear a diaper again and she hasn't worn one of those for three years!!!!

We have been in dr. offices and labs for the last 3 days and so far they have concluded that she has an infection in her urine. They are testing her for various things including salmanila and intestinal disfunctions. I have to collect her bowel movements and fill eight viles to return for testing. They've even asked me to keep her urine on ice and return it to the dr. office. I have no idea what this is and i hope your son does not have it. I'm a single mom and have missed a lot of work. I don't know what to do. Let me know how your little man is feeling. Good luck.

Please get your baby in to the doctor today. Throwing up for a week and not having any bowel movement is not good. He may be dehydrated.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that my 12 month old daughter just went through this with the EXACT same symptoms. I had never heard of a stomach bug that caused constipation, but this one did. She threw up for 8 days, but would sometimes go 24 to 36 hours without throwing up and then Wham! she'd throw up again. Things to looks for are wet diapers, crying tears and a moist mouth. As long as those things are present then dehydration is being kept in check. She also had zero appetite. My Dr. said as long as she's staying hydrated, then the virus just had to run its course. She lost quite a bit of weight, but put it back on right away when she got better. This is just a particularly nasty little bug and I hope your little man feels better soon.

Does he get ear infections a lot? everytime my son gets sick he usually ends up with an ear infection, and if hes showing no other symptoms of being sick and very fussy maybe thats the problem.
