My 1 Year Old Is "Eating" His Crib. Need Advice Please!

My one year old is chewing on his crib. He has already chewed off a pretty good chunk. I am afraid he will get splinters or choke. He doesn't want the teething rings I give him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't know what part of the crib he's working on, but there should be plastic guards on the top rails. You can get them at Babies R Us, I think.

There is a crib shield (bumper pad, really) that is mesh and goes over the side rails. It's by Trend Lab. Try that--since it goes over the side rails, if your baby starts chewing on it, they're chewing on the fabric.

Good luck!

I would get crib guard/rails. They ar plastic things you can put on the crib and they are safe to chew.

There is a product called crib guard rail. I got one through protectiveparentschildproofing.com.

Good luck.

If he just prefers the feel of wood for chewing, there are wooden teething rings/toys at oompa.com. They are a hard wood processed and designed for teething and will not splinter, crack or come apart. My daughter has one of the teething dolls (a little doll like a beanie baby with a wooden ring that can be detached for cleaning) and she loves it. She chews on the cloth and on the ring. My son insisted on chewing the edge of his toy box, so we used one of the plastic edge covers another poster mentioned. We got that at Babies r us.
