Hello...My name is D., and my husband and 3 boys and I are moving to Plainfield in August with my husbands job. I am looking for all the goods; a great preschool, hair stylist, pediatrician, dentist, pediatric dentist, etc. I've read through some of the categories, but wondered if there were any other opinions out there, especially for a preschool. I have a son who will be 3 in July and be ready for preschool, and with us moving in August, I won't have much time to sign him up. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi D.. My children (son, 22 months, daughter, 3.5yr) go to Chesterbrook Academy. They're a wonderful preschool located just north of Plainfield on the south edge of Naperville. They're classes switch (toddlers go to the beginners room, beginners go to intermediates, etc) in August so that might be a nice time to get your son in. You can look up Chesterbrook at and the Naperville location on Rollingridgge Road just now got their own site at You can call them at ###-###-####. We've been extremely happy with the school and have found their prices to be on par with places like LaPetite and KinderCare. Good luck.

Hi D. ~ Welcome to Plainfield! I have lived here for 4 years now and love it! My daughter will be 1 this fall and I absolutely love her pediatrician. His name is Chad Olsen, and he is with Millennium Pediatrics in Naperville, located at the corner of 95th Street and Naperville/Plainfield Road. He also has an associate doctor, Robin Kalish and she is very nice as well. Both are younger doctors and Dr. Olsen has 2 young kids himself, which my husband and I liked. They came highly recommended from my friends with small children.

Hairstylist I would say Kenneth Stone Salon in Shorewood. It's just South of Louis Joliet Mall off of Essignton & Black Road. The phone number is ###-###-####. You can ask for Angel. She is the owner of the salon, and also my neighbor, so you can say I referred you if you make an appointment.

I am not happy with my dentist in Plainfield but I will be checking the posts is case someone can refer a good one. I am using Dental Associates of Plainfield right in downtown and can say that something about Dr. Hodoval justs rubs me the wrong way. so I guess a negative referral is helpful too!

Hope this helps you out a bit - My daughter is too young for daycare so I can't help you out there, but maybe once we have more children we will look into it.
