Hello moms! We are moving this week from Valley Village to Encino and would love any ideas you have in the Encino area.

I have been active in Moms Club and will probably join up there as well. We also go to My Gym and Music Together and I know they have locations there.

My son is 21 months and we are due with a girl early November. He is currently on the wait list for Exploring Minds Montessori but we are not opposed to another pre-school in the Encino area if you have heard good things.

Also, what are some area parks? Fun, free things to do? We will be living very close to Lanai School so that is our area.

Thanks!
D.

Hi D.,

My 4 yo goes to a preschool over here by us (woodland hills) called Childs World School. They also have one in Encino. It's a really great school. I just love it. My now 10 year old went there all the way through Kindergarten and my little one has been there since she was 6 months. They have a great summer program with lots of activities and water play. Good luck with the move!

Encino community center offers good inexpensive mommy and me classes. I love my ped. at Pediatric care physicians. We see Dr Rubin, but I have seen all of the Drs and they are wonderful ###-###-#### They are on Balboa right next to the Pediatric After Hours Urgent Care. The urgent care place is great. It costs a little more, but saves you the mess of the ER ###-###-####. What other kinds of places are you looking for?

Hi D.,
My daughter attended EPCC (Encino Pres. Children's Center.) It's is right next to the Community Center and across from the fire station on Balboa. This is a wonderful school. It is one of very few accredited schools and though they are on church property are not a religious school. Many of the teachers have been there for over 15 years. My son is 2 and will attend there next year. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this school and would be happy to tell you more if you are interested.
The park at Balboa Lake (which has a formal name but I don't remember it...) has just re-opened and is terrific. Lots of shade and is all access for the play equipment.
The Community Center on Balboa does have great classes, including the Crafts for mommy and me classes with Susan.
Enjoy Encino,
J.

Hi D.,
Encino has a nice My Gym between Balboa and Louise. We used to take my son there. There is also a really nice park at Balboa and Ventura with a playground for little kids and older kids. Also on Balboa between Burbank and Victory is a realy big park with a duck pond and playground and a place to rent bikes and boats.

Good luck!
