Hi there K.,
We go to Metropolitan Pediatrics in Burnsville (12 minutes from home, on the way to Cyprus!), and see Dr. Harrington. We love her. Park Nicollet and Fairview Clincs are also well known and good.
Our dentist is Dr. Kottas at Eagan East Metro Dentalcare. The Best!
I think I told you we do Piano at Cyprus - pay extra for an afternoon lesson.
The Wise Swim School in Apple Valley - 10 minutes from home - is consistently voted best swim school in the southern suburbs. We take lessons there, but I know they have a team.
Cyprus does Drama Club. Eagan High is a great resource for the summer.
Hair - K. at Danielle's in Burnsville - on the way to Cyprus!
I wouldn't buy winter gear in Texas because I don't think they sell warm enough stuff for her! There is a Burlington Coat Factory in Apple Valley that has thousands of coats. Kohls and Target also have coats. Target is the best place to get boots, hats, scarves, gloves, etc..
AS for the car - either is fine, just make sure that it is heavy and that you have ABS brakes. That is what helps in our road conditions.
We attend a Catholic Church, but from the little I know of you, I would think you would be looking for another type of worshipping community. There are churches on every second corner in Eagan so I am sure you will find one that suits you.
Hope that answers some questions for you.
Merry Christmas, B..

I have my four year old son in what we call Karate, but it is actually Taekwondo at Fusion Martial Arts in Eagan. We love it, the teachers are really great and work with the kids so well. The address/phone info is: 525 Diffley Rd, Suite # 2010, Eagan, Minnesota 55123, ###-###-####. Also, their website is www.fusionminnesota.com

If you like it as much as we do, please give my name as a reference...it is expensive and every little bit helps.

Good luck on your move,
K. M.

Welcome to Eagan! I live in north Eagan and we have a piano teacher in our neighborhood we've been very happy with. Her name is Natasha Stepanova and if north Eagan works for you, I can get you her number.

Swim team--there are at least a couple of swim clubs in the area. I can't remember their names, but you can get information by calling the Family Swim School, locations in Eagan and Lakeville. They have access to that information.

Eagan Athletic Association has a website and handles most childrens' sports in the area, including baseball and soccer. You will need to sign up sometime this winter so check out the website soon. They offer both in-house and travel leagues.

Acting classes--Eagan High School is nationally known for its drama program and is sending a group of high schoolers to perform "Midsummer Night's Dream" in Scotland next summer. They offer drama camps for kids every summer. Kids can also take classes at the Children's Theater in Minneapolis and the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. It's a great area for culture and theater.

Tennis and karate you can find through the Eagan Parks and Rec department and District 196 Community Education classes. They both have catalogs on line.

Furniture--we have a Slumberland in Eagan, a HOM furniture nearby in Bloomington, an IKEA in Bloomington and a lot of other options nearby. Ashley Furniture is in Woodbury I think (20 min.).

Cleaners--I've been very happy with the Clean N Press on Denmark behind the Byerly's in Eagan. They have other locations, but that is the one I use and the service is excellent. They send out coupons by email.

Doctors--we go to Park Nicollet clinic in Eagan. I've been pretty happy with it. It's part of a larger system so there is access to a wide variety of specialists. Like many health organizations, it is going through some financial challenges and changes lately.

Good luck!

Wow - You are going to be very busy!! Our kids go to Glacier Hills Elem in Eagan. We do soccer and baseball thru Eagan Athletic Assn and love our teams and other parents. Check out their website. Our boys both take swimming lessons from the SW Area YMCA on Opperman & Dodd Road. Try Boltz Taekwondo in Mendota Heights (Eagan neighbor). Furniture stores are everywhere...Really depends what you are looking for. Hair salons are also everywhere but Cole's is pretty full service (sort of day-spa-ish) and is centrally located. We go to Northwood Dental -- Don't love or hate it. We take the kids to Dr Jason Maxwell at St Paul HealthPartners because we cannot say enough wonderful things about him. Not in Eagan but I would drive out of my way for him.

Family doctor I would highly recommend is Dr Carolyn Barrow at the Allina Clinic in Eagan. She is great & delivered both my grandchildren. She see lots of kids and also spends time at the Allina Clinic in West St Paul. This is about 10
minutes from Eagan. Eagan has a lot of of what you are looking for without going out of your way. Good luck!

Hi Kristi,
Eagan is a wonderful town! We have a lot of community events (more in the summer months). Sports and activities are offered through the city and I have no complaints about the different leagues. I have a Son that does Football and Lacrosse through the city and my daughter does Soccer and Basketball! There's a great Art House that people of all ages can take classes through.
For hair there is a lady in Burnsville (10 minutes from Eagan) that is great. Her name is Barbara and she works at Danielle's Coiffures. Her # ###-###-####.
I hope you love your new town!
