Moving to Cincinnati and Need Full-time Childcare

We are moving to the Eastgate/Mt. Carmel area in August and we need to find daycare for my 10 month old daughter starting in September. We are interested in all types... centers, in-home, nannies/sitters. We need between 35-40 hours/week. I've heard good things about Little Red Schoolhouse and Kids 1st Academy. Are there any other centers I should look into?

Does anyone know of women in that area that do in-home care? Or nannies that are looking for full-time placements? Thanks for the help! C.

What can I do next?

I don't like Kids 1st. My best friend had her daughter in there for 8 months before taking her out and to a sitter. There was a hitting/biting problem with a 3 yo boy and it was not being handled. The only good thing she liked about them was they were excellent in potty training.

I do babysit here, but I'm in Amelia, which is bout 15 minutes north of Mt. Carmel Tobasco Rd./ Beechmont inttersection. Try looking at Eastgate Moms website, or Amelia/BAtavia MOMS club online, sometimes they have links to child care in this area.

Good luck with your move!

Hi C. - there is a Goddard School in the eastgate area (very pricey) but we had a great, great experience with them in Loveland. A really great school. Also - I have a friend whose child attends Winnie-the-Pooh (what a name...) in the Eastgate area and LOVES it. I have hear really, really great things about it. Little Red School House is supposed to be one of the best childcare centers in Cincinnati. But - I don't know anyone who has children attending there. Don't know anything about Kids First.

Good Luck!

Hello, I wanted to let you know that Child Focus Inc. is a very good day care. I currently work there in data entry and take my son there also. I know the staff and management and they focus a lot on the needs of your child. They are strict on ratios (which are lower than state requires) and they also have strict rules on the nutrition value of meals. They are balanced menus. They also help your child have great development and communication skills. I know that they are well staffed and would recommend them to anyone. I believe they have a small waiting list at this time but I encourage you check it out and be on the list. You can do a tour anytime from m-f 6-6. I hope you check it out and like it. I sure do! I am starting my own in home child care but for before and after school only or I would help you out but please check into it. You dont want to go to Eastgate Childcare on mt. carmel tobasco road. I have heard poor things about them. Good luck!
