We are moving at the end of the month and I am getting quotes. It seems that most movers charge by weight upon their estimate in-house, but we are planning on moving as much as we can ourselves between the close and the day they come (but I don't know how much that will be) so I am choosing a mover that quotes by the hour. So my question is do you think that $125 hour for a three man crew and 40ft truck is a good price? This is from Around The Block Movers. If anyone has any other suggestions on someone who might beat this price and is trustworthy, please let me know that too. Thanks!
You will come out ahead if you get a mover to quote the job, not the hour. Mighty Movers ###-###-#### did a great job for us. They didn't drag their feet b/c they weren't getting paid by the hour.

My wife saw this and wanted me to respond. I own Adonis
Moving Co., 18 years, BBB member. ATB only has 26ft box
trucks. A 40 ft box would be pulled behind a tractor.
(18 Wheeler). I currently run 4 man crews with two 26 ft
trucks at 122. per hour. Not the cheapest, but 125. for
3 men is high. Check around for a better rate, making
sure potential movers are TX DOT licensed, and have
a good record with the BBB. I would be happy to give you

Dugan Moving###-###-#### (Brad) - these are the people we used when we moved to texas, but they just unpacked us. I used Door to Door moving & storage (the pack your own container people). They were reasonable and very nice. Hope this helps & have an easy move :)
We are moving in a couple of days around the corner. We are using Firehouse Movers. The cost is 100.00 an hour for a three men crew. I am not sure about the size of the truck. They were highly recommended on another board. Hope this helps.
