Moving My Family to Verona

Hello everyone!! :)

I'm considering moving my family to Verona.. Its difficult being that I've built quite the "nest" where we are now.. Great community, friendly neighbors that we get together with often.. block parties, neighborhood Halloween parties etc. Husband just got a new job in Jersey City and the commute is insane from where we are now. Was just wondering if other Verona moms can fill me in on the overall feel of the community and if we can expect the same overall experience?

We have an 8 year old daughter, 6 year old son, 19 month old daughter and 9 month old son.. and we are DONE! :)

Look forward to hearing from you all and possibly making some friends ahead of time! :)

Hi M.:

I lived in Verona for several months and still frequently visit there. It is a mommy and baby friendly neighborhood, and definitely worth checking out as a place to live. You can also visit Verona, NJ Facebook page and present the same question, you may be able to receive more feedback there as well. I personally like that it is close to my office in Belleville, New Jersey, it makes it easier for Verona mommy and baby clients to get to me.

All the best to you and your family,

Hello,

I looked into Verona and Cedar Grove when I was looking for a new home. If you are a stay at home mom maybe this does not pertain to you. The school from when I was looking 2 years ago have no Lunch program and no Aftercare program. So I would look into these by calling the schools in the area you think you will be moving into. I really like the area but at this time since I work full-time I can not move in. Good Luck!!! :)

We were recently at Verona Park, what a beautiful place! A little piece of paradise in NJ. Not too familiar w/ the area but my friend grew up there and she loved it.

Good luck!

hello Michelle:

I grew up in Verona and my parents still live in the same house. Although the neighbors from my childhood have come and gone, my parents still feel that they live on the perfect street with the best neighbors.
I love the town and everytime I visit with my kids it is a little slice of heaven! To me it isn't quite as hectic as Bergen county where we live now.

I am sure you will have terrific neighbors and your kids will meet some great friends!

Good Luck

M. K

Verona is lovely and very close to Montclair which has loads of things for kids from ice skating, to great eateries, to the museum, to art, dance, karate classes, of course there is the YMCA and so much more not that far at all from Verona. Also there are so many great restaurantes and so much more.

Your family is so fortunate to live to close to Montclair. I hear Verona has excellent public schools too. My kids are far to old for us to get together but I couldn't resist the urge to encourage you to enjoy all the great things Montclair has to offer since you are so close by.
