Hi all,
will be moving as soon as our house sells in ohio...my husband is already in brunswick working. I was in brunswick for the 1st time 2 weeks ago. Have narrowed it down to the north area of town or south/west. Schools would be cb greer..north, or satilla marsh south. Any viewpoints on which area of town or school is best. We are looking at new construction...such as shell pointe, eagle crest, majestic oaks...any new subdivisions you would recommend? There are alot of vinyl homes down there...do they resale well? Any established or existing homes (subdivisions) you would reccommend or advise to stay away from. Also, what about darien..seems to be alot of building there but didn't look at any? I can not thank you enough for any advise or comments!!!! Ps. There's a new church north of town...new...didn't have a sign on it yet...anyone know??

What can I do next?

Both areas you talked about are nice. There are alot of new neighborhood on Harry Drigger Blvd, all very nice. I have friends that live in a couple different neighborhoods there and my dad lives in Caleb's Crossing. I finally got to drive down to the area next to the Satilla Marsh school. LOTS of nice neighborhoods there. Depending on where your husband is working the drive from there might be longer. That area is about to grow like crazy-so home values might go up quickly. I don't know much about those schools-my daughter is only 18 months. Hope this helps a little. I've lived here most of my life so let me know if I can help at all. (we are finally getting a Target/Lowes/Old Navy and a Starbucks-Brunswick is getting bigger!)

Hey D., I am D. and we just moved here the first of the year from Tennessee but my husband & I are both Ohio born and raised. What part are you coming from?

We were told Satilla Marsh and CB Greer were the best also but found the homes down by Satilla get the smell of the papermill, so we are in Eagle Crest. We really like it here, my husband is working at FLETC so it is extremely convenient and we enjoy the layout of the development plus CB Greer seems to be a really good school so far.

Not sure if you are talking about the church on Driggers or not but that is a Bible Baptist and I am looking forward to what they have to offer. We have been going to First Baptist which is downtown - it is a good church but I would love something closer to home since I have a hard time getting my crew ready for the 9am service.

Haven't been here that long but would be willing to help you out with any question you might have.

Hi,
Welcome to Bwk! I am a teacher at Satilla Marsh and could tell you that it is a very nice school! (To be honeest, CB Greer is good as well, but I'm biased!) If it makes any difference to you, we will be getting a middle school very soon which will be a school of convergence media (sp?!) in other words...it will be a very technological school!
I live in Camden County which is just south of Brunswick and love the south end! There is so much growth out here with the new houses, churches (we've just moved our church out here and are looking to build a new sanctuary soon! Bethel), schools, and restaurants!
I have a 3 1/2 year old as well!

Hi D.!

I'm 36, married 13 years with two kids and except for college and another short while, have lived in Brunswick all my life.
We live on the south part and my daughter has been at Satilla Marsh since kindergarten - she's in 3rd now - and we love the school. My son will begin kindergarten there this summer! Since we are sort of "by ourselves" on this side of town, it is almost like we have our own private school. It is always clean, the principal is great, and I feel like my child has received a solid education.

Housing - ok...have to be honest and tell you my husband is a builder so I'm biased :-) Right now he is doing the majority of his building in Clearwater - a new neighborhood just down the road. It's gated, they are getting ready to add ammenities such as the pool. The houses run from about 2400-3400 sq feet. I don't know what price range you are looking for but there are lots of great neighborhoods out this way - Somersby Point, Cinder Hill, Foxcreek, Laurel Grove - tons of new places.

Is your husband going to be at FLETC? I'm just taking a guess :-) We attend FBC Brunswick and love it. Our website is www.fbcbrunswick.com We have two services - 9 is contemporary - that is what we attend - and 10:30 is more traditional. We are really growing with lots of young families. We have AWANA for the kids and so much other stuff for them. This weekend we are having a ladies conference and Lisa Whelchel (Blair from the sitcom The Facts Of Life) is our speaker. I usually teach a Bible study on Wed. nights...we have a ladies Bible study with childcare on Tues....Our pastor is great - he is a little older with me and with 5 kids 9 and under so he really preaches life applicable messages that you can really use and apply in your life.

I see your daughter is 3 1/2...my son has attend Lakeside Methodist Preschool for the last 4 years. This year he is in the "pre k" program. They are absolutely wonderfuly. The director and assistant director both go to our church.

ok - lots of info here - maybe more than you wanted. If you would like to know anything else feel free to email me.

have a blessed day!
P.
