Hello

I'm looking for a movie that would be appropriate for a 6 year old but entertaining for a 10 year old. All viewers will be boys from the age group of 6 to 10. Any suggestions on movies?

Thanks,

What can I do next?

Are the 6 year olds easily frightened? If not then any of the Roald Dahl books which have been made into movies would be good: The Witches, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, Fantastic Mr. Fox and of course, Willy Wonka/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
And ALL of the Pixar movies are wonderful, at any age!
My kids also loved Babe, Nightmare Before Christmas, Series of Unfortunate Events, Labyrinth, Never Ending Story, Indian in the Cupboard (kind of intense) and Spy Kids (only the first one, the others were awful.)

I'm going to disagree with the Transformer movies, there are some yucky make-out and close/lingering highly sexualized female body shot scenes, especially the first and second ones.... not good for little boys!

Spiderman is pretty tame if I remember right though, but hero movies are mostly all pg-13 anyways. That said, my 4 and 6 yr olds love them, but we prescreen them and cover their eyes/ears if needed. I wouldn't feel comfortable showing other people's kids those movies though b/c I can't censor them and don't know what sorts of action violence they can handle.

One of the earlier Harry Potter movies would be good. Cars is a good idea too, The Incredibles, Night at the Museum, Spy Kids, Elf, Superman, Star Wars (the originals), Series of Unfortunate Events, Bridge to Terabithia, ....

We all have enjoyed "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" with Nicholas Cage. It's funny, daring and exciting without any inappropriate images or language.

Any of the Transformers movies, some language may be a little 'salty' but the 6 yr olds may miss it. No "F" bombs, just sayin.

Pixar Cars 2. It's very James-Bondish so entertaining for older kids.

I would disagree about the Transformer movies or Avatar too. They are very violent and have very adult war themes. I enjoy both movies, but I feel they are too heavy for little kids. My family loves Sorcerers Apprentice, the Night at the Museum movies, Pixar movies, the Shrek series, The Santa Clause series, Home Alone, Rio and How to Train Your Dragon. The National Treasure series is pretty good too. The first Black Stallion is fun, but I have not seen the second on recently.

That is all I can think of right now.
