Hello. I am trying to figure out what I could do for my mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day. I would like to make something- with out spending too much money. Any Ideas?

What can I do next?

I have 6 children and last year when I was pregnant with the 6th we actually did handprints. I got aprons for the grandmas/moms and put the kids handprints on them with their ages. Then I put the phrase "Grandma's helping hands" on it. It was a big hit with some and with others it wasn't so great. But IMO anything that has the kid's creative input (the more that they are able to do) the more that the grandparents are going to like it. Good luck.

My sister in law took a couple pictures of her 2 boys, one by themself and one together. She glue them to a fun foam shape with other fun foam shapes glued on the edges as decoration. Kyle's picture was a triangle and Clayton's was a wiggly rectangle. She then put magnets on the back. They are still on my mom's fridge after 3 years! Extremely cheap since on sheet of fun foam is about 50 cents to a dollar!

I love making stepping stones with hand and foot prints. They have cool kits that come with letters, marbles and other stone decorations for not too much. You can get them at any craft store. Or you could put their prints on an apron or plate.

I remember as a kid we didn't have much so my mom had us put foot prints on t-shirts and it would say my grandkids walked all over me, or we would do the hands too and come up with things to say.
I put together photo albums with pictures of my daughter for christmas gifts.
I hope these Ideas help and gl

A fun thing we have done for grandmas that the kids helped with are glass mosaic candle holders. We just bought little glass globe shaped things from a craft store and then we used watered down elmers glue and torn up pieces of tissue paper and covered the whole thing, spreading glue and then putting the tissue paper and then more glue. We added glitter over it all and then let it dry. We put votive sized candles inside Then when they are lit it looks like stained glass. I don't know if I explained it very well, but that's what we did. The girls had fun making them and the grandmas thought they were beautiful.

I read this in one of the parenting mags. It was aimed at dad's but I'm sure would work for mommies too!

Get big construction boards and cut out all of the letters for the recipient. "mommy", "grandma", "Nona" whatever. Then take pictures with the kids posing with each letter. Arrange them in a frame that will fit all the letters and wrap! Cute, huh?

finger paint on card stock or scrapbook paper. then use the painting as a mat for a pic of the kids.
handprints on inexpensive (hobby lobby for like $3) tote bags w/fabric paint.
clay molds of hand prints w/a piece of metal curly cued at the top to be a pic holder. kids paint the clay mold when dry.
these have been the favorites of what we've done so far.

We plan on buying cheap pots and flowering plants. We are going to let the kids paint the pot and then help us to transplant the flower into the pot once the pot has dried.

Anything with the kid's handprints on it is a good one. Could use paint on a card, or on cardstock, or you could have her put her hands and/or feet in plaster of paris for a stepping stone that you decorate together.

They have tons of neat ideas, but the one I have used most often is the plate kit. Your child draws something on the special paper provided in the plate kit, you send the paper back, and they magically turn it into a plate! We have done this many, many times--I used to even make them with my parents when I was younger! THey are really durable and they come out really cute. My parents still have (and still use!) some of the ones from when I was a kid. My daughter did some for all her grandparents a few CHristmases ago, when she was 2, and her grandparents LOVED them.
