Moses Baskets

Has anyone used a Moses basket for cosleeping with an infant before? Does it work? My 2.5 year old would never sleep in the bassinet we had (given to us by my sister in law who didn't need it anymore) and looking for another option. My husband works a rotating night schedule and is gone 3-4 nights a week and I'm kind of paranoid about the new baby sleeping in a different room both for weather related reasons and because I'm a nerd and I'm afraid I'm going to sleep through the new baby's crying!!

What can I do next?

We used a moses basket for both kids. So much less overwhelming for them than the crib. However, if the main issue is that you're afraid you're going to sleep through the baby's crying, I'd say you should just crank up the volume on the baby monitor.

We loved our moses basket! I used it for 4 months. We just set it inside the cradle. She was all snug and cozy in it.

I used a moses basket, it's what everyone uses for the first few months inthe UK where I am from. You can carry them from room to room, and take them in the car, they are light and portable.

Both my kids did wonderfully in their moses baskets. Ours went from between my husband and I in our bed, to beside our bed, to inside the crib. It was great! Helps making the transition to the crib less stressful for the infant.

Loved my Moses basket. My daughter slept in it the first 3 months. I like how it is so portable.

My daughter uses a moses basket for co-sleeping and says it works well.

Completely opposite of the other poster! My daughter would NOT sleep in her moses basket. I was SO excited to get one and use it as a co-sleeper in the bed with me and it was a major disappointment.
BUT, in theory it's a great idea. Maybe it will work for you!
