Moms: What Are Must-haves for a 4 Month Old?

Hi moms, I have a 4 month old boy and am looking for suggestions on toys/games/items that other moms have found they can't live without. He's starting to sit up (with help) so I've been looking at little baby seat things and am not sure which one to get. Any other suggestions are welcome! I don't want to waste my money on things I won't use.

What can I do next?

Jolly Jumpers,
Excersaucers
Rolling balls/that make noise
UPDATED: Evenflo; and as soon as they can hold them selves up in it safely. I wrap them around the waist with a towel if they need it and put the saucer in lowest position and a pillow under their feet if needed.

My kids loved the extra saucer. They are the round seats with toys around them ? They loved that for at least til they could walk.

Definitely an Exersaucer!! Any brand, doesn't really matter. I have an Evenflo at my house that is wonderful, and my mom has a Baby Einstein one at her house that my kids loved too. I don't know what I'd do without my Exersaucer.

The other thing I really love and use every single day is our Bumbo seat. Love love it. I use it constantly. My baby can "sit" on the floor with his big sister and play, he sits in it and watches me cook supper, etc.

Those are the biggest 2 things I couldn't live without. Other than that all the toys/games are so optional and it doesn't take much to entertain a 4 month old! :)

She loved the exersaucer but didn't stay in it a long time. Don't put bunch of money into it.

Both my daughters loved the fisher price rainforest jumperoo. They seem to sell a lot of excersaucers, but I'm really glad I got the jumperoo instead because it builds better leg strength than the excersaucers. Not only will your little one love a baby seat, you will love it too because it will free you up to get a few more things done around the house.

Also, a toy music activity table. My daughter loves hers. They love to stand at an activity. Also, i just bought my three year old a CD player for her room, with kids music C.D's. But baby LOVES to listen too.

Get things used as much as possible because everything at this age only lasts for a short time and is not worth spending a ton of money on. If you do buy new things take good care of them so you can resale them.

I know someone said no to a bumbo chair but we have loved the bumbo. It is great to put baby in and move him around where ever you are. They have a tray you can attach to the chair. It's great to put toys or food on when they start eating. It is so easy to transport where ever you go. We also love the exersaucer. Those are the two necessities for me.

A 4 month old doesn't need anything. Seriously, I had it all, and you only use most of it for 2-3 months. I used the floor gym the most with my son, and I am glad that I did. He was an early crawler, and I know it was because he was free to move around and not trapped in a swing or exersaucer, or baby seat!

My recommendation is a play gym.

Whatever you do, don't buy new!!! Craigslist!!!!!! Save your money!!!!

I wouldnt get one of those Bumbo chairs, I got one and my son barely ever used it. I would definatly reccomend an exersuacer though! I have one and my son has been using it since around that age, and still uses it and hes a year old. He just loves it. We have a Evenflo fun at the pond one. He loves it. Really any toys that light up, make music, and he can chew on he will love.
