I am looking for moms who have had premature babies and have watched them develop. I would love to get to know them and here their stories.

What can I do next?

C.,

I'm sorry to learn of your loss. I just wanted to let you know my brother is a nurse at the NICU unit at Overland Park Regional Hospital. I can pass any questions you might have along to him if that would help. Our daughter was right on time so I have no personal experince with premies.

Hi,

My daughter was born three months premature at 26 weeks. She stayed in the NICU for 3 long months and finally was able to go home with us when she was about 4 pounds. She is now 5 yrs old and just started kindergarten and is loving it. Other than being smaller for her age, she is just perfect. Write me if you have any questions.

Hi C.,

I have twin boys who were 6 weeks early (not that premature). They are 19 months. I also work with babies who are prematur. I am a speech therapist by trade. I work one day a week and love to have playgroups when I am not working.

I am sorry for your loss. My daughter was born at 32 weeks and was a big 32 weeker at 4-1/2 lbs. She spent 5 weeks in the NICU and came home with a monitor. She had eye surgery last year but now has perfect vision at the age of almost 5! Other then the surgery she is normal and has a fiesty 3 year old brother. Life is good....
