Hello, New mom who is looking for childcare in the North Dallas area. I recently took a tour of Creme de la Creme in Plano and Primrose North Dallas and still find it difficult to make a final decision. Feedback on the two or recommendations of other daycares. I really am looking for a preschool that has a focus on teaching young toddlers. My daughter has never been in daycare before, she is now 18 months so it is time for her to begin socializing and learning with her peers. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

What can I do next?

You baby is to small to be going to preschool for the interaction and socializing. If you do not have to put her in daycare...DON'T!!!!! What about just a mother's day out program 2 or 3 days a week.
My 3 year old is very advanced in everything and learns very fast. I talked her dr about putting her in some kind of school setting and he told me NO...that there is still so much that I can teach her while she is home with me. So, I just have her in a mother's day out program 2 days a week and she LOVES it...it gives her time to learn from someone else and be around other children and it gives me time with my baby and to run errands and clean...or whatever!
Best of luck...and remember that she will be in a "school" setting for the next 18 years of her life...does she really need to start now?

I would recommend Primrose by far over Creme, Especially for a toddler child because children feel secure from constantecy and Creme changes classrooms throughout the day every 30 minutes or so. At Primrose the kids are in the same classroom all day with the same teachers. Also it is my understanding that Creme has diaper changers and at Primrose the teachers change the diapers of the children in there classroom.
Primrose has a traditional curriculum and focuses on the balanced child. Tour a Primrose's and I am sure you will see the diferences. Primrose is by far the best choice. My children attend Primrose School of Forest Creek in Plano.

I highly recommend Creme de la Creme. As a former employee, I can tell you they are superior to other centers in every way. Also, they are really big on hygiene and cleanliness which I think is very important.

I know that is the perceived norm, but who says? Who says that an 18 month old needs to start learning with her peers?

What should she be learning, do you think, from her peers? and with her peers?

Did you ever wonder why families are made up of people of all different ages, and why there are a set of adults to provide, protect, oversee, and teach the kids? And don't forget love! No one will love your child like you do, or even care a smidge as much, regardless of what the tourguide says.

I say keep her home. Teach her yourself. Get out to the park with other kids sometimes, but protect her from learning in conjunction with peers who don't know good from bad/right from wrong yet, and protect her from being under cared for by strangers.

My two cents.

A., It depends on the director. Get to know each director. Creme de la Creme looks great on outside but I am not so sure it is what it appears like. Primrose has a pretty good reputation.Good luck!

I suggest Primrose hands down! Primrose is a great school with a great curriculum and also offers part time options. My 9 month old is in a Primrose school and I have never been happier! He has even learned Infant Sign Language! I think it is amazing! Good Luck in your search!

I am assuming that you need full time daycare. If so, I would recommend the Seay Center at Presby. Plano. My 17 month old granddaughter goes there and they have been happy with it. If you only want a situation for her for 2 days a week or so, I would suggest a church based preschool program.

My niece and nephew both went through Creme and my sister-in-law was beyond pleased with it! My niece was reading at 4 years old, their academics were unbelievable! If I went back to work after I had my first child, that's where he would have gone. I think that the diaper changers are a great idea because it lets the teachers focus on teaching and working with the kids rather than constantly changing diapers. Good luck!

I highly recommend church-based preschools unless you need full-time daycare. A church based daycare for your daughter's age would probably only be 1 day a week, but that is plenty of socialization time for that age. You could also piece together 2 church programs to give you 2 days a week. -- The other options are more for full-time daycare. I have heard that Creme has excellent state-of-the-art facilities, but not as good of teachers. But that is just hear-say. (No offense to the former employee who responded.)

I am not sure if Carpe Diem is close to you but I strongly encourage you to look at that facility. It is on the lines of a Creme de la Creme. The lady that owns that school developed the school for her kids and has built an awesome school. Keep in mind Primrose schools are franchised and will vary based on location. Good luck.

Love Creme de la Creme of Plano!! Both of my boys go there and love it! There's no comparison to the academics. They learn so much in a great inviting envirnoment. Math/Science, Art, Computers, Music, Spanish, Language Development, Water Park over the Summer months. Hot lunches, 2 snacks, diapers provided....2 teachers per class and the teachers rotate with them to the other classes so there are actually 3 teachers in a classroom. I love the rotation system since the attention span of little ones is so short. It refreshes them. Everytime I toured a facility that the kids stayed in the classroom - they looked like they were more than ready to go. A lot of times the Creme kids don't want to be picked up early! They don't want to miss anything. Let me know if you have any questions. :-) Good Luck with your decision!

Our two granddaughters go to Creme in Plano, and it is fabulous. We all could not be more pleased. Everyone knows each child, I am assuming, for when we take them out early, anyone we pass calls them by name. The teacher always shows up at birthday parties, and the program for learning they have is impressive. I could go into it more, but we are expecting our third granddaughter today at noon! Must go. I so recommend Creme de la Creme in Plano. A.

I cannot necessarily speak for the Creme of Plano, but both of my daughters have attended Creme in Allen and I have been a huge supporter and love it. My older daughter started there when she was 17 months old, and she is now 5 and starting Kindergarten in the Fall. She is more than ready and I base that in part on the direction she has gotten while at the school. She can read based on phonics, she is already doing a lot of addition and subtraction, and socially it has been a great experience for her.

My younger daughter has been there since I went back to work from maternity leave, and she is now 21 months old. They don't start changing class rooms every 30 minutes until they are 2, and I actually feel different from another poster in that I feel that has given my daughter a lot of different exposure to different things. Yes, children find comfort in consistency, but the routine is completely consistent. They go to the same classrooms in the same order everyday, providing that consistency while still exposing them to new and exciting things. I have loved it and while it is more expensive, I would definitely do it all over again if I had to.

I have had friends that have their children at Primrose and have liked it as well, so I think that which ever school you ultimately choose you will be putting your kiddo in good hands. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions about Creme though, because I have had at least one child in every single room in the school :)

Wow, a lot of Creme fans here. I am not. We had a horrible experience there and I do not recommend it. My normally happy son cried every day at drop off and pick up. No-one knew his name and ever cared if he showed up. It seemed as though he was a number and a source of income only. We felt no love there. I won't share all the stories I heard about Creme', but I would never leave my child there again.

He flourised in mothers' day out at Prestonwood Baptist Church and at American Montessori Campus and never cried at either. I was secure and at and peace with him being there. Also, I agree with the person who said your daughter doesn't need socialization at 18 months. They really aren't aware of each other until much older, so if you are doing it for that reason, then give her more time at home with you. I highly recommend a strong MDO program like Prestonwood as a way to start the socialization and learning process in liue of a daycare/pre-school. I was a working mom with a nanny. He did MDO at two years old and didn't go full time to a preschool until he was three years old and I think that was plenty young. If I hadn't lost my great nanny to a move, I would have left him in two days a week for another year before starting pre-school. Good luck!
