I have just recently got my son on Medicaid and the insurance for that is United Health care. The list of Pediatricians that he can see in the Spring Hill area are Bane,Russell T., M.D., Becker, Norman, M.D., Botsch, Monica T., M.D., and Ramappa, Gogi M.,M.D. Any suggestions on who would might be the best for my son would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What can I do next?

My 3 children have been going to Dr. Ramappa for 10 years now. I'm very pleased with him. My children's ages are 12, 5 and 1 month so I see him alot. My 5 year old has been to his office 4 times since school started because her immune system is low and every time he is caring and considerate to her feelings. Good Luck.

Im actually switching over to Bain this week. Disregard my above notice.

I heard that Ramappa was really good and that Russel Bane had a terrible attitude.

I have been going to Pediatrics and Beyond for 10 and 1/2 years and absolutely love it. I have seen Dr. Bain and Becker both at that office. Personally I prefer Dr. Bain, but I'm ok with anyone I see there. I have many friends who have gone there and not gotten the same 'warm and fuzzy' feeling that I have for Dr. Bain. Some people think Bain is arrogant and they feel rushed when they see him, but that has not been my exeprience at all. Of those friends, many have gone to Rammapa and been extremely happy with him and his office.( although some say the wait is longer). I think if they are both covered by your insurance you should make an appt. with each office (a consultation). Then you and your son should go in and see what kind of feeling you both get from them. See how each Dr. interacts with you and your son and then make a choice. I think you both have to like the Dr. that you choose.
And FYI- I also have United Insurance and they no longer cover anyone at Oak Hill Hospital and I'm not sure which hospital Rammapa uses. Good luck.

I take my youngest son (who is one) to Pediatrics and Beyond where Dr. Bain and Dr. Becker both work. We do not always see the same doctor, and have had experiences with both of them. They are both really great doctors who take the time to listen to you and answer your questions despite how silly they may seem. The office staff and nurses are extremely nice. They make same day sick appointments, and have very flexible appointment hours if needed.
