My son will be 16 months on the 11th . He was scheduled for MMR at 15 months but was sick and couldn't do it. Went back two weeks later, got chicken pox, couldn't do it. But now I may be glad he didn't get them. I have heard terrible things about this vaccine and have been told I could wait till he is older. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank
my son had the shots..i just spread them out...he's 3 now..totally fine..i believe in spreading them out..i saw a difference when we did that...in the beginning i got all his shots at once when they were due..then at 15 months that's when i slowed them down.
Autism isn't the only issue...before giving ANY of those vaccines make sure you pick up a copy of the PDR and look at the side effects for each one. Is it a risk you really want? Also, here is a great source that I use all the time to reaffirm my decision to not vaccinate:

We gave my daughter hers on time with no adverse effects and plan to have our new preemie twins vaccinated on schedule. I think the 'fear' about this vaccine comes from the timing of it. Though research has shown otherwise, people still blame autism on this one. The chemical they thought might be to blame has not been in the vaccine for many, many years, yet children are still diagnosed with autism. New research has shown that the signs of autism are apparent at age one, well before this vaccine is given. It's just that the age it's usually given is when the signs of autism are more apparent to the non-experts, so people have tried to find a cause and effect. I used to teach autistic students years ago, and the parents were forever searching for something to blame for their child's autism. Some people split up the vaccine and take each component separately. Check and see if your pediatrician can do that for you if it's a concern.
Please DON'T listen to the hype. Be informed. Numerous double blind studies in the past 10 years here and abroad involving thousands of children have shown no link between MMR and autism. The alleged association was started by a researcher who was shown, at a recently concluded trial that was the test case for all lawsuits related to this matter, to have been biased and the medical journal (Lancet) that published the original research stated that if they knew then what they know now, the research would have never been published. The findings of this original research have never been replicated. Other scientists who supported that research have since withdrawn their support. The whole story of how MMR was blamed for autism is well summarized in the recent March 2nd, edition of Newsweek magazine in a story called "Anatomy of a Scare". It might still be on the racks, but if you can't find it, provide your fax number or address and I will fax/mail it to you.

G., I so recommend reading and researching vaccines before vaccinating your child. (See below for my TRUTH ABOUT VACCINE DATA, especially the videos ). My husband and I opted not to vaccinate our dazzling son, Dylan Orion, because I know too many children who had received their vaccinations and had truly adverse reactions that caused permanent and irreversible damage. Not to mention all the new links between autism and vaccinations. It's a very personal decision. I understand. All I ask is that you research it for yourself. Please know that I send this data with love.
