My almost 3yo in her infinite wisdom decided to put an M&M up her nose, she does not have the blow out the nose down yet she kept breathing in. Thank God I have a good nose sucker and that it started melting I think I got most of it. So what smart things have your lo's put up their nose or in ears? I need a laugh, also it was plain not peanut or we'd be heading to urgent care for a check lol.

What can I do next?

About 6 mos ago, my then 2 yo came to me and said, "Mama, wiww you pwease get a cheewio out of Bem's nose?" (he calls himself Bem) It was all I could do not to laugh hysterically: he said it so cute and pathetically.
I laid him down and got the tweezers. No problem.
I laughed until I cried after he was in bed that night!

Twin 3 year old grandsons stuck beads up their noses and had to go to ER. Then some time later I had them in the car and one kept saying his nose hurt so I gave him a tissue and then his nose was bleeding so I had to pull over and clean him up and the car was a mess and so I put a rolled up piece of tissue in his nose to control the bleeding until we got home WITHOUT THINKING. The next day he had stuck pieces of tissue up his nose and had to get that out too. Who would have thought it as I explained it and why, etc. Who would want to stick things in their nose either????

My mother...as an adult, put an M&M up her nose just to show someone how it was possible... Yes, my family is odd.

My daughter had a "unwrapped" maple seed up her nose once. I had no clue it was there until she happened to sneeze and it came out. Thank God.

Her oddest thing is she eats soap bubbles... she's 5.

When I was 3, I shoved a little chunk of orange crayon up my nose. I put it so far up, they actually had to strap me to a table, numb my nose, and remove it!! I vividly remember remember the whole ordeal. I can laugh about it now that I have a 3 year old!! He likes to put cheerios in his nose and launch them out. I never taught him how to do that, so I don't know where it came from. We are definitely working on not sticking things in the nose!!

LOL glad your daughter is ok. I have an almost 4 year old and I watch her like a hawk. Despite my ever-watchful eyes, she has managed to shove up her nose an earing, a piece of candy and a piece of apple (all on seperate occasions). You think she would have learned after the first time. She is very good at the 'nose blow' so we just hold the clear side closed and tell her to blow and whatever it is shoots out haha. She has also swallowed my wedding ring and managed to drink some bleach once when I was cleaning the house. I swear I do watch my daughter very closely! But it only takes a split second for them to get into trouble. Despite it all my daughter is healthy and just fine thank goodness.

First, I'm glad you got it out!! As for me, well, my kids weren't quite that talented!! lol!! They decided to go the SWALLOWING route!! BOTH my children swallowed a coin!!! No problem with my son (I forget how old he was) but when my daughter did it a couple years later, she was acting differently and I got scared so I took her to the ER. She was fine and both kids' coins were passed with no problems. And of course, being the wacky scrap booker that I am, yep, you guessed it - each child has their coin in their scrap book!!! I figured it would be a fun story they could each tell their children and grandchildren!!

Fun question!!

My husband tells his famous story that he stuck a bead up his nose and did not tell his parents for days..

It began to hurts so bad, he broke down and told them.. Like Bug, they had to go to the emergency room and strap him down to get that thing out of there.

He said he never did that again.

My five year old put a bead in his ear at pre-school...they called me to come pick him up.

Took him to the ER and they made it worse, pushed it further in and ended up cutting his ear canal with the tweezers. They scheduled us with a pediatric ent who ended up having to preform out patient surgery to remove it.

That was the most expensive bead in history ($1200).

He has also swallowed legos...oh the joys of kids...

My husband was really upset until his aunt reminded him about the time he put about 12 rocks up his nose and they spent the afternoon in the er getting them removed. LOL.

Lol - I've never had any up the nose or in the ears issues with my three, but we did have an incident last year with my daughter (then less than 1 year old) - my older boys were 9 & 6, and have a huge collection of squinkies, which we have always worked tirelessly to make sure they keep away from the baby ... anyway, one morning I went to change the baby's diaper & found a little blue squinkie whale staring up at me, right in the middle of her poo - he had quite the accusatory expression on his face ... we had no idea she had even swallowed thing! its a funny story, but I also thank God that she didn't choke on it or have trouble getting it through her systems and expelling it. Needless to say, the squinkie population was banished to the closet for the better part of the last year ...
