Hi Ladies,
I am kind of freaking out here. I am pretty exact with my cycle and if it does not arrive the day of, it will be few days before but never late only when I was pregnant.
Ok
I was supposed to get my period on Nov 24th and did not. So I decided to do a pregnancy test and negative. that same day I went to my annual ob/gyn exam and did another test then and negative. then the doctor told me wait a few more day and test again so
I tested again yesterday morning as soon as I woke up and negative again. my concerns are one where is my period? Am I pregnant? and to top it all of I have been feeling cramping in my lower abdomen and back like if I am getting my period and my boobs are so sensitive like they usually are a week before my period arrives. Does anyone experience anything like this? could you give some advice I have not ideas what's going on. Thank you so much ladies any input is greatly appreciate it.

I suspect that you're just late. Have you been ill lately or stressed? Travelled or anything like that--all those things can throw off even the most regular person.

But for what it's worth, I have a friend who does not test positive on the pregnancy tests, to the point where she was told her first pregnancy was all in her head--until they finally did a sonogram and found the baby :-/

Hi - I once had a chemical pregnancy where my body felt as if it was pregnant but kept testing negative. It just never took. I finally went to the doctor and had the test done there where it came out negative. When finally I did get my period it was very heavy.

Go see your doctor - good luck! I hope it comes out positive for you!

Hi P.,
Are your periods always absolutely regular or are they sometimes late? It is possible to just have a late period, sometimes caused by stress, illness, etc. It's also possible for you to conceive later in your cycle than the 14 days that pregnancy tests assume, so I would wait until you are a full week late and test again. Good luck!

it may just be too early to tell. it also may be etopic if you are pregnant since it releses such a low amount of hormone and may climb only slightly so after a few weeks you may have a positive test but if it's ectopic it's dangerous. i would recomend talking to your ob about the possibility and get blood tests every few days to see if the horemone level has risen even a bit. after you are about 4 or 5 weeks late (if you still havn't gotten your period that is) have an ultrasound done to make sure it's not ectopic, if it is it can be very dangerous to you so catching it soonis good. good luck.

Sometimes our periods are just late. I was like clockwork, and then one month I just didn't get my period, and to add to the confusion I had some weird brown spotting that lasted for almost two weeks. I practice natural family planning so I knew I had NOT ovulated yet, but neither myself or my OB-GYN could explain what was going on. Then one day I just got my period, and everything was normal again. It was VERY strange, sometimes things like that just happen. Hopefully everything works itself out soon.

I remember my husband and not yet trying (but also not being very careful) for our 2nd son and I thought I was maybe PG because my period was 7 days late. I kept taking PG tests and they kept coming up neg. I am VERY regular. So, maybe your period is just late. I would give it a few days and test again.

Listen to the other women's messages as they are right and test again a full week after the date your period was suppose to begin. Many times the hormone levels are not enough to show up on the pregnancy test, therefore waiting a week will confirm either yes or no. The last resort is to go to the ob and have a blood test. Take it day by day and let us know what happens. Good luck with it!

Hi Plola
Maybe you miscalculated when you are supposed to get your period.
Good luck

If the doctor hasn't done a blood pregnancy test yet, i'd start there... those are much more sensetive than the urine tests. if the blood test is still negative you might just have really low levels of hormone.
They can usually confirm the pregnancy with ultrasound very early - i had an ultrasound 5 weeks after my last actual period (so only about a week late for my missed period) and we saw the little gestational sacs (we're having twins!) and went back at 6 weeks and saw their little heart beats.

If all of these tests still come back negative for you, it might just be late due to stress or change in your life? i remember after my wedding i was 2 weeks late and we had a major freak out because I've always been VERY regular :) eventually it showed up. but if the tests are negative and your period still doesn't come a few weeks late, you really should have your OBGYN look into any medical problems you may be having to cause this - just to be on the safe side.

Good luck and hope you have happy results :) Keep us posted!

I've found that stressing about missing your period actually makes it worse. As does lots of stress. Look back and see if anything stressful has been happening in your life. Then just relax...taking the pregnancy tests is making the stress worse.
I, too, get the sensitive boobs and back cramps with the onset of my period. My doctor told me that this is often the result of wearing underwire bras. So I switched to softer ones, and didn't have a problem. Once I went back to the underwires, the tenderness came back.
