I haven't had a period since March 30. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I've been on Loestrin FE since July 2010. I haven't missed any pills. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

One of the side effects of the Loestrin pill is shortened, lighter or in my case, no period. Mine practically disappeared while on Loestrin. My OB said that several people have this as a side effect. It wouldn't hurt to check with your doctor.

I'm not too familiar with Loestrin, but from my experience, no matter the pill I usually got a light period unless I skipped the placebo week and just kept taking active pills. Assuming you haven't done that, I might call your doctor and request a blood test just to be sure you aren't pregnant. Did you take the HPT in the morning? That might make a difference. It could be related to stress or something, but again, usually the pill regulates things so you don't miss a lot of periods. I'd give your doc a call.

I am on the same pill and like you have gone months without a period..over a year!. At first I always took a pregnancy test which was always negative. I called my doctor and she said that was normal with many pills but especially this one. I went in to see her and run some other tests because I thought it was so strange, but everything was normal. Hope this helps!

Have you called your OB/GYN yet? If not, you should. If you've had other health issues going on or been on other medications, you would want to know if that can have an effect on things. You would also want to know if the OB can do a blood test to rule out pregnancy completely since those are more accurate than the home tests.
