If it's just one missed period I wouldn't worry too much. There are a number of things that can cause a missed period such as: stress, a sudden loss/gain in weight, changes in medications, etc, etc. If you miss a few, than I would definitely go see a doctor, but just one missed period is nothing way out of the ordinary. :)

Some times it takes a while I missed june and july and took four pregnancy test. In August we were getting married took test Friday August 11th negative. Everyone told me I looked pregnant because i was "glowing" laughed and told them I could show them the test still in the trash. mind you I was having faintin spells since june. August 17 I took another (by this time everyone even customers at my job were commenting on my glow) And yes there were the two little line. you can always ask the doctor to do a blood test just to make sure and make sure when you are taking the test it is the first thing you do when you wake up.

Wow... I could say the exact same thing right now, except my husband had a vascetomy about 3 years ago. So we KNOW there's hardly a chance of me being pregnant. But yet I've missed my period in april and also have two negative pregnancy tests.

In my case I'm probably late just due to pure stress. Too many things going on (jury duty, fix it ticket, kids' conference with school, money issues).

I called the doctor office and I was told that I could come in and they'd draw some blood to test for pregnancy that way, but for me it probably would still come out negative. (home tests could always pikc up a pregnancy a couple days before i missed a period the two times we expected one.) Otherwise its just a matter of waiting. A nurse friend suggested that I go in and get a pap smear, but that's something I'll be doing in the next month or so anyways - since its been a year since my last one.

Wishing you the best and hope that helps

it sounds pretty normal to me, but if you are worried about it then you should definitely go see your gynecologist.

Sometimes it just happens this way even when we are not pregnant. This has happened to me before. You could be under stress or if you have been sick this happens. You could also be pregnant and it's just too soon to show on an HPT. Good luck and if you miss again for May I would check with your OB.

Hi Darlene,
Stress, weight gain or loss, and travel can cause a period to skip. When my husband and I went to Hawaii with my parents a few years back I did not get my period for 56 days and I knew we weren't pregnant.
If your period skips again this month I might suggest you make an appointment with your Ob/Gyn just to make sure everything is okay.
