Has anyone ever tried mineral make up like the bare minerals or sheer cover? Do you love it? I wanna try it but I'm skeptical about the type of coverage it provides and it's durability! Any reviews would be appreciated! Thanks moms.

Hi T.,
Being a make up artist and very picky about different make-ups. I must admit that I love the Mineral make-up that I use. I am involved in Arbonne and we released a new lot of mineral Powder foundations this year and I love mine. I would be happy to get you some to try if you would like?

Oh! This is the BEST makeup. I bought the starter kit at Sephora in the Galleria Mall. My skin breaks out, so I was worried about the coverage, too. I actually use the concealer brush 1st to cover my dark circles under my eyes and my blemishes, then apply the makeup to my entire face and top it off with warmth. I use the warmth as blush. Its great and I will NEVER go back to any other makeup.

I love it. I use Bare Essentials and have for a couple of years. I have rosacea and it provides good coverage, stays put and is a good sunblock. Only negative is that it is a bit messy with the powder. You can order on line and they have a 1 month supply that is a good price.

Hey T., I have the "worst" complexion in the entire world,,,I do not have blemishes or zits, etc., but I have very red blotchy skin on my face. I have some broken capillaries which are also red and very hard to cover. I've tried so many different products. My sister gave me some bare minerals and I like it ok but I wasn't impressed with the length of time it lasted (on me) but she loves it (she doesn't have the redness to deal with either). The very best thing I've ever used and I love this stuff,,, is the mineral makeup by Jane Iredale. It's expensive and not that easy to find sometimes. There are some plastic surgeons who have it and you can buy from them. I would also call a few of them and ask what they use as well. I had laser resurfacing about 5 yr's ago so you can imagine what my face looked like during the healing process (& it looks the same now as before the procedure). The Jane Iredale makeup is what they gave me(sold to me rather) to use and I've been sold ever since. Hope this helps - as someone mentioned, everyone's skin is different. I think the actual website is www.janeiredale.com if you want to check it out. (oh, and the brush you use to apply makes a huge difference, and your face needs to be dry if you moisturize first - I have only used the base but that's all I needed) Good luck!

Hi T.,

I have used bare minerals on and off for about 6 years... I really like all their products, just make sure you find the right shade or, mix 2, with the foundations... it really can cover blemishes, but you really need the right brushes... and blending technique, but you figure it out,as you use it.
However I tried sheer cover and returned it...

Best,
B.

I tried both Sheer Cover and Bare Escentuals and neither of them have enough skin tone choices. My favorite is Aromaleigh.com You can get tons of samples and their products are awesome, and the prices are great! I'm STILL using samples from two months ago (you do pay a small fee for them, but it's worth it to find your color and texture!). They also have great camoflauge products for covering red spots etc...it actually works (and it's a green colored powder!!). Anyhow, hope this helps!

Bare Minerals is the best!!!!! I have had bad acne in the past..think alot was do to the brands of makeup I was using....It immediately cleared up when I started using this. I am super oily normally and Im not on this product. I have a little acne left that Im trying to clear up and Im on Accutian so Im a little flaky now and this makeup still looks perfect on me. I wear Bear Minerals Powder and just dab some concealer in the places that I need ..like under eyes and then just a swipe of blush. I looks really good and natural and you can adjust the coverage if you need in places and it dosent look caked on either. I buy ____@____.com $27 w/ tax for the poweder...I dont use the Mineral Viel..its just a waste of money ....I think it looks the same w/ out it. I do use there Kabuki brush and would def. reccommend buying it..its like $28 but the powder looks so much better and its a one time buy. I used to spend so much money on makeup and this is so cheap compared to all the junk I used to buy. The thing lasts me about 2 1/2 to 3 months and I wear it everyday. You can also sleep in it and it doesnt break you out at all. Def a product to try...Ulta can apply it for you in the store or even buy it and they will take it back if you dont like it.

I've been using Bare Minerals make up for about 4 years now and I won't use anything else! I bought it when I was pregnant with my son because my skin broke out somethin terrible and every kind of foundation/powder made it break out even worse. I've always had sensitive skin, I had to go to a dermatoligist when I was a teen. Anywho, once I started using it, my skin cleared up and I didn't even need that much coverage. And it blends so well with my skin I have people ask if I even use foundation at all! I also love the fact that it is so pure, you can even sleep with it on and not have to worry about it. A big plus for me since sometimes I'm too tired to wash my face after a long day of watching kids! If you're concerned about how much coverage it offers, I would recommend getting their concealer brush and the bisque. You can use it to go under your eyes, any redness under your nose, cheeks, or any place you just need extra coverage and it covers beautifully. Also when I started I became a member and they sent it to me every 60 days, and I didn't have to pay full price for it (and they include a free gift with every shipment, usually worth about $20) It turned out I didn't even need it every 60 days and I am now receiving it every 4 mths. Check out this link, they're offering an amazing price for a starter kit! http://www.bareminerals.com/ Anyway, order it, you'll love love love it! Let me know if you have any other Q's.

I can tell you for a fact that Bare Escentuals makeup is AWESOME!! I am a makeup junkie. I have worked with several makeup artists over the years and worn almost every makeup line out there. I am not an artist nor do I work for any makeup company. I am a SAHM with 2 kids. When Bare Escentuals came out and started advertising on QVC and in Sephora, I too was skeptical about how much coverage it really provided. They make the commercials sound like it is some kind of magical potion and that was really hard for me to believe. Well I went ahead and bought myself a starting kit. Those come with 2 foundations, one bronzer, one mineral veil sheer powded and 3 brushes. All for like $60.00. I bought the concealer seperatly. Of course the entire line (other than lipsticks and mascara) are all powder. I happen to have very dry skin and thought there was NO WAY this would work. I have always used liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer. When I put on the foundation and concealer, I could not believe how flawless it made my skin look. Not only does it have excellent coverage, it goes on feeling very moistuizing and leaves your skin with that soft glowing sheen. I have some discoloration on my face and the Bare Escentuals completely covered it. Keep in mind that you have to have the concealer to use with the foundation. That is the secret! All I have to say is try it. You will be happy!!

I just switched to Bare Minerals in June. I love it! :-) I was surprised at how well it covers. Mana at Hulen Mall sells it. You may want to go in there and have them do a demonstration.

Hope that helps!

I LOVE my Bare Minerals makeup! I have tried them all. I worked most of my career on television (news anchor) and having worked with a number of makeup artists, I would still recommend this. The coverage is as light or dark as you'd like. It's quite natural. Good luck!

I use sheer cover and I like it a lot. The concealer is great if what you're trying to cover up is a flat area. bumps or zits are still noticeable. The powder is light and I really love how it feels. it did take some getting used to, and I think I still use more powder than they say I should, but I like it and it doesn't come out cakey at all. I'm a big fan of guthy-renker products. I also use Meaningful beauty and really like their moisturizer. I use it instead of the sheer cover moisturizer. The sheer cover is the first product I've found that covers w/out looking over-covered. I also use physicians formula (bought it at walmart) and I can't tell that much difference between the two exept sheer cover stays on a longer.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I LOVE my Bare Escentuals makeup! I'll never go back to anything else! There is a store at Northpark Center, next to Nordstrom's. You can go and get a makeover, and won't be pressured to buy. They'll show you the technique and find the right color match for you. It lasts FOREVER it seems! I've been using the same powder since December, and I pretty much use it on a daily basis. Plus, I'm really bad at washing my face at night, but this doesn't break me out! I have naturally oily skin, but with this, my face stays pretty normal all day long. It can get kind of expensive, but when you think about how long it lasts, it's well worth it! Oh, and the eyeshadows are wonderful also...tons to choose from, and they would probably last a lifetime! Good luck!

Hey there, im not sure if this is the same thing you were wondering about or not. I don't use a foundation or anything but this powder I changed to is a mineral powder foundation, loose powder w/ SPF 15 and so far I love it! The one I am using is by Arbonne and I am so glad I made the change! So far I feel like the coverage is good, it stays on well and it kind of feels like I don't have anything on!

I've been using Bare Minerals for almost 3 years and I LOVE it. Before this, I never used the same makeup twice...now, I can't make myself try anything else! I started off with the same concerns you have...which caused me to wait and contemplate for a couple of years before I tried it. What I really love is: the coverage is great (without color separation lines) and you can choose how heavy you want the coverage. It never looks blotchy or feels heavy. IE: when I go to the lake or quick grocery run, I put just a little on to cover the pink in my face, but without looking made up. And, it looks totally natural!

If your unsure, there's a Bare Escentuals (sp?) store in NorthPark...and I think one in the Galleria also. I've been into the store in NorthPark, and they'll give facials in the store. I'd say go in and try it. Don't wait a couple of years like I did. I wish I'd tried it long ago.

I have been using bare minerals for almost a year now and I love it. I have red undertones and it covers it adequately. You don't even feel like you have make up on. The only time I have to freshen it up is if I am sweating a lot, but it usually holds up the entire day without refreshening it. I know they have a concealer powder for blemishes that you can put on under it. I really like it. I can't see me switching back to traditional make up after using it.

There are a couple different types. I carry jane iredale. They were the first to make mineral makeup, so i feel they know more about what they are doing than anyone else. It is a powder and foundation in one, you can make it sheer to heavy, depending on what look you are going for. It has a SPF of 15 (80% of premature aging is caused by the sun), is water resistant and all natural. A lot of people have the hard white bumps on their face that look like whitheads that are impossible to get out. This is caused by bad ingrediants in other makeup. Come in and try it on and wear it home at no charge. I have no doubt you will love it! It is super easy and quick to apply! Sorry if i rambled, i just really love the product! dont know if you got this solved yet, but I have clients who use it alone, some who use it over tinted moisturizer, some who like pressed and some who like loose, some who wear it over liquid foundation...so there is no right or wrong, it is all about the feel and coverage you want. I use the Arbonne mineral makeup and love it. I honestly think the key is having a good brush to apply and do a just a little because that is all you really need. I, like a few of the others I see here, are involved with Arbonne. I live in Allen and would be happy to answer any other questions you have about it.

I tried it and it was a waste of $60 for me. I really wanted to like it, because it sounded so promising, but it just wasn't worth it. I'd say if you can get a sample, try it before you buy.

I started using BeautiControl's Wet/Dry make up and I love it. And it's a lot cheaper than Bare Minerals! I became a consultant because I love the products and get a discount. If you want to know more or demo the product, send me an email.

I have used Bare Minerals in the past but recently switched to the Arbonne mineral powder. It left my face less oily and I feel it covers a little better (longer) than Bare Minerals. I used the product for years, just happened to find a product I like better. I love the mineral make-up though... any brand will be GREAT!
