Milk Bank in Austin

I have been thinking about donating my extra breast milk that I am producing and was wondering if anyone out there knew anything about the milk bank here in Austin. I was wondering if they charged the people who were using the donated breast milk. Or if they just gave the milk away. I don't want to donate my milk to someone while they turn and make a profit off of my milk. I just want the milk to be used and not thrown down the drain. But, I don't want it to be for profit. Does that make any sense?

What can I do next?

From what I understand the milk bank does charge but it is only to cover their costs. I don't believe it is a for-profit business. Also I don't think anyone can just come in and buy the milk; you have to have a perscription from the pediatrician or neonatologist. I think it is a fanatastic cause.

YOu can contact the neonatal unit at Seton Medical Center as they take donations of breast milk for the sick babies. I'm not sure of the details of how to do it but call ###-###-####. That is the main hospital number.
