Hi,on saturday I went to my doctor's I had an vaginal ultrasound and didnt find a baby. Im guessing im around 4-6 weeks pregnant. I had blood drawn on saturday and then on tuesday. Tomorrow I will get my results. I started getting bad cramps at night on Monday. But With my first pregnancy I had horrible cramps and he turned out to be a healthy boy. Im scared that it could be an ectopic.

I wish all the best for you with this pregnancy. The most important thing is to pay close attention to what you're seeing and call your doctor if you think things are getting worse. Ectopics can be very dangerous if untreated.

Please let us know how it turns out. I'll be thinking of you.

Dear S.,

I'm sorry for your physical and emotional pain. You might be having a miscarriage from a "blighted ovum", like I did.

If the cramping is mainly on one side or the other, it could possibly be ectopic. Otherwise you are probably just too early on to detect the baby and the cramping is from your uterus expanding(it expands a lot quicker with a second pregnancy). I also had an ectopic scare with my second child, cramping as well. It turned out to be that I was only 5 weeks at the time of the ultrasound and they weren't able to find the baby at that time, they also drew blood and then I went in for another ultrasound about a week later and they found the little peanut.

Try not to stress out but do be vigilant about your health. Do some relaxation/stress reduction techniques to calm your fears but do check in with the doc. to make sure everything is ok.

I'm hoping that it's just too soon to see anything via ultrasound. When I went in at 7 weeks 4 days, the OB said if I had of come in 2-3 days earlier we probably wouldn't have seen anything. In fact, you usually can't even see the yolk sac until about 5-6 weeks. The good news is, you had cramping the first time, so hopefully it's just your body adjusting. Hoping for the best.

Hi S.,
I totally understand why you are scared, ectopic pregnacies are dangerous. I had one before, the first symptom I experienced was lower stomach pain, everyone thought I ate something that disagreed with my stomach. In the middle of the night the pain was so bad that I became dizzy, that's when family members rushed me to the hospital. I was then told I had a ectopic pregnancy and that it was good that I was brought in. Please get checked, until they confirm that it's not ectopic.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies. Both were detected by me starting to bleed. According to my doctor there is no visible sign of pregnancy until your hormone levels reach 2500. So they will most likely monitor your levels and then do a repeat ultrasound.
I am hoping the bset for you!
