Hello moms,
I am due today for baby #2.
We have picked out a first mane but I am not 100% sure I like the middle name.
We are having a baby girl and her name is supposed to be Austyn May. I really love her first but am not sure about the middle name. any suggestions??
Her big sisters name is Abby Ray. I kinda feel like their names rhyme too much.
Thanks!!
P.S
Her papa's middle name is Austin.

What can I do next?

Pretty first name. How about Austyn Kay, if you still want them to rhyme. Might I suggest Lily, Rose, or Hannah for a middle name? Good luck!

I really loved the name, until you mentioned the rhyming thing. Not that it's a huge deal, but I think I'd go with something different.
How about Lily!? I think it goes really nicely.

My daughter's middle names are Elizabeth and Lane! But yes you won't say the middles names often enough for everyone to know they rhyme. I like may better than Mae personally.

The spelling of Austyn seems odd to me and it's generally regarded as a boys name. Whay about Ashtyn. Close and more girly.

As for middle names...they really don't matter much unless the kid is in trouble which generally results in parents callilng out the first, middle and last name all at once so just make sure it's easy to say.

I like May spelled Mae. I know that someone mentioned that. I also like Austyn Skye. I have had a few friends wait until their baby was born then they named him or her. Maybe have your top two in mind and then when you meet her, decide at that point! :o) Whatever you pick will be perfect!

i had so much trouble with middle names, i decided to let my kids pick their own, it will be finalized when they are 12, it gives them a chance to play around with names, my oldest daughter has been quite creative with hers, right now its (reaper).....her name is gwen...........funny huh?, but im sure it will change to something pretty.......if you dont like that idea, why dont you just wait til you meet her, then see what name seems better, whatever you do, dont go with a name you are ambivilant about.

Hi Mama-
What about using your name for inspiration? Austyn Juliet or Austyn Julianne? I personally like when the middle name is longer than the first, so that the names flow. Mine is E. Catherine. My friends daughter is Abigail Victoria....
I hope that helps! And Congratulations!

Before even reading the responses I immediately thought Austyn Elizabeth. It has a really nice ring to it and flows well. If you want to stick with a family name for both first and middle, use your grandmother's maiden name or her first name? Congratulations and all the best in the birth of your second child no matter what her name is ;)

I love Mae spelled with an "e" on the end. But to get away from the sound alike thing -what about your maidedn name? I love it when children, especially girls, have their mother's maiden names as their middle names. You can also use a grandparent's name.

Rayne (suggested below is VERY cool). I also like May - spelled either way. I like that they "rhyme a bit". You don't use the middle name that often so it's nice. My neighbors kids are Synee Jo and Saydee Lou.... similar in rhyming and too cute! congrats

Ok, so I'll add my bit to help confuse you a little more... The first name that came to my mind when reading your request was Austyn Louise. I have no idea where that came from, but thought I'd add it to the mix. I am like so many who do like Austyn May (or spelled Mae). I don't think the rhyming thing matters all that much, but if it truly bothers you, do go with something different.

Holy super late, but incase you are still looking, I think Austyn May sounds wonderful. I also think the rhyme with her sister's name is really cool. My husband and i have a yours mine and ours situation...so my daughters name is Alissa Renee, and my step daughters name is Ariel Myshel, so the "ours" daughter's name is Angelina Renee Myshel. I know it's long, but it ties all three of them together...I think integrating names of siblings is sweet...we kept the accidental A theme going as well...all of them being half sisters we wanted to create a similar bond as with traditional families sharing the same last name... :)

Wow! lots of great replies and I love them all. i love the name you made a choice of it's different and yet has some old fashion twist to it, I love the name May in the middle and Austyn May sounds really nice I love the spelling I have a boy named Austin Dylan and I can tell you this i found the name in a book while at the hospital i wasn't sold on what we had a few choices of after he was born I found the name and bang! I told my husband and he was sold too I have to tell you it was after I looked at him I said the other middle names won't do I need something different. Maybe if you just aren't sold on May yet wait and look at your little surprise package, look at her dear little face and then see if you want that name for her. Sometimes you have to look at the person in your arms, I had a friend tell me that and she was right.

However, I love her name Austyn May I bet it fits her just fine...
Good luck and many blessings to you and your family

Hi there! One of my favorite websites when I was pregnant was babynamegenie.com. They have search options where you can input the first & last name and it will generate suggestions of middle names that go with the names you already have. Since you are going with a family name, are there any other family names that could go along with Austyn? Variations on a family name? Good luck!
