Probably the best way to find out about this is to ask your questions on a doctor/hospital site that specializes in this.
You want an accurate diagnosis, you want to know how extensive the situation is (if it's mild leave it alone vs if it's sever is surgery needed, etc), you want to know treatment options and possible complications every which way around.

I see in your prior question that your child is 17 months old with a thumb sized hard spot close to her forehead.

A metopic suture ridge is exactly what is sounds like - it's a ridge that forms as the skull bones knit straight down the center of the forehead from the fontanel at the top of the head (which typically closes during the first year) to the nose.
Google this and you'll see some pics of mild to extreme ridges.

Now, I'm not a doctor - so take my opinion with a grain of salt - but one thumb sized hard spot does not sound like a ridge to me.
Your baby's well child check ups through the first year would have detected it - they take head measurements (along with height(length) and weight) and check soft spots routinely to make sure they are closing on schedule.

If the spot worries you - ask your doctor about it.

You won't know if she has this ridge until a doctor makes this diagnosis. If you think she has this ridge, you need to ask medical professionals your question. We are lay people. Even if another mom has this diagnosis for her child, she can only give you information about her child. You won't know if your daughter has this ridge.

My kids did not have it but my friend had it as a baby. In her case, the sutures were fused and her head (forehead area) did not grow. Sometimes though the sutures just overlap forming a ridge and they don't have to intervene. It's best to talk to a specialist if you're concerned (craniofacial) and they could do cat scans and exam to confirm. Good luck :)
